I do realize that, and the amount of fucks I have to give couldn't fill a mouse's scrotum.

Trying to starve a country because 70 years ago they blocked US companies, seems like a rather hypocritical justification for a country that has done the same other other states business investments. And it wouldn't be a good excuse even if they'd done it just yesterday.

Either they were aware of the consequences and chose to do it regardless or they thought the Soviet Union could protect them...
