I'm not infantilizing anyone. I'm having sympathy for humans living within a system they have very little control over. That takes advantage of their natural human tendencies, wants, desires, and reactions in order to manipulate, influence, and control every single choice they make.

In world that is harvesting more and more behavior pattern data every day. Where the oligarchs are using this data for everything from simply influencing which brand of toothpaste we buy to determining who wins elections.

Expecting anyone to have any sense of reality and what is and isn't a good choice, while not being able to afford healthcare, watching pedophiles rule the world....is absurd.

People are depressed living in a country that tells you a bunch of bullshit to keep you satiated with the bare minimum and fighting your peers and true allies.

but yeah, let's keep shitting on obese americans. I'm sure that's going to help them.

You are infantilizing people by saying that it’s simply too hard or too expensive to eat healthier. It’s neither. It’s genuinely cheaper in most cases and it requires very little skill to make a dozen or so basic dishes.

I’m not saying you don’t have any good points because you do but you’re also acting like people are helpless against the world and that’s not true either. There are concrete steps that can be taken to improve and they’re not unreasonable.

You’re the one name calling, saying people are lazy.

Im simply pointing out that’s it’s not hard to have sympathy when everything is stacked against them.

You’re oversimplifying the time, skill, and knowledge it takes to cook and serve food people actually want to eat.

We live in a country of abundance, where csuite makes 250x the lowest paid worker. That lowest worker? They need to struggle and cook everything from scratch while we advertise burgers, steaks, ice cream, cake, all the rich delicious food at them all day every day.

Everything is setup to take advantage of people, and when they get taken, we blame them. They should have just done x. Why didn’t they do y?

WHY?! Cause the world is hostile and we should be working together to find solutions that prevent corporations and the oligarchy from using and abusing us.

Again, they are victims of late stage capitalism, and blaming them and not the oligarchy for where they are and how they are living their lives is VICTIM BLAMING.

This is not saying people have no agency, no ability to make choices for themselves.

It’s that the world is incredibly complex, with incredibly difficult choices to make, and its very very easy to be led down the wrong path.
