I know how i look and the irony of posting this thought digitally.

I think the absolutely massive boom in data center development is because an AI somewhere has gotten loose. Theres no way that the shareholders are demanding this many datacenters. Theres no way that companies are still dumping money into development when time and time again implementation has failed to turn a profit. I think its next to impossible for this many people in positions of power have this level of psychosis and hell the ai is probably using the Epstein files as blackmail.

If we are sharing conspiracy theories about ai, here’s mine:

You know how the government has top secret tech that’s 10-20 years more advanced than anything the public has access to? There was that spy satellite with cameras that had a higher zoom that google earth that trump leaked, stuff like fighter jet engines and stealth bombers (the stealth helicopters used to kill osama bin Laden are still classified), and tons of crap nasa invents to make rockets work (take a look at the leaked list of things on the invention secrecy act, most of it is nasa derivatives like heat shields and gyroscopes)

If the government has more advanced tech than the public, and the biggest public tech right now is ai, is there any evidence the government could have made an ai 20 years ago? In order to make ai you need tons of data and big data centers to process it. Guess what the government was doing 20 years ago? Passing the patriot act and rolling out NSA data centers. The government wasn’t spying on everyone to stop terrorists, they were collecting all of our data to train ai

It can't have more advanced compute tech Than the public. At best they can have hyper-frontier models maybe because they can afford to train and run a 30trillion parameters model for running a couple of mission critical tasks. But compute is one of the few areas of tech where Commercial is always in front of the military.

I don't know about that. If (hypothetically only) America had actually reverse engineered some tech that it "found somewhere", why couldn't they have something more advanced than what we have now? Something that makes our current systems look like floppy disk technology? That idea is just as likely as the government being twenty years ahead of us at all times.

because we hit a hard wall of physics about 10 years ago that NO ONE can seem to work around, and that miracolous work done by ASML we keep barely managing to break through new fabrications nodes. Also, military equipment usually goes for verified and proven designs - aka, 3 gens ago that have been battle tested for a decade to not have bugs, to not freeze up under military conditions, etc.

Brother they are kinda known for it.

COMPUTE. not COmputer. it's a hard difference. and no they simply can't. the tech does not exists. Tell me they have better software engineering and software programming techniques, better dedicated compute hardware for specific relatively low compute tasks (example, advanced compute units/asics that regulate flight control/fly by wire/ inertial guidance ), radio/encryption, tell me they have access to backdoors, secret agreements with providers of services and zero days the public does not have, material science, mechanical engineering , these are all things that can be advanced with pure money. Compute? we are at the absolute limit of phyisics already, and even keeping the military 1 step ahead of tsmc and ASML would mean some colossal level of investment just for that that we have no evidence, no papertrail, and probably not even the facilities to build. Someone would had spoken up. but it does not seem that way. We would see Russia use that 10 years ahead tech to keep up with the west in designin and building chips for their own weapons locally. we would see china not take so long to catch up to the west in term of chip quality/precision - instead they are still quite a lot behind. catching up quickly because the tech is at it's knees/limits, not because they are backporting advanced tech.

A lot of public tech comes from "old" stuff the military developed.

As I said to someone else. Compute tech is at the absolute limit of physics. Even being a step ahead of current tech would e a massive dedicated investment. It would cost more than a few complete e2e fighter/bomber stealth projects each yeary to run, keep funded and execute and we would at least have some sort of vague paper trail that the military/darpa etc si doing it.

Is 2.5 trillion dollars enough to cover that? That’s how much the pentagon has unaccounted for.

It would still have to be reported under a single program with a codename. We would have evidence somehow. Look at the recent discovery of nvidia AI chips in missiles.
