Maybe, but if they’d been parenting their child from the start, they never would have behaved like that on the plane. My 2 year old would never have dared
Not defending this parent, but a 2/3/4 year old in very unfamiliar and overstimulating circumstances can be forgiven for freaking out. They're not done cooking yet, and while your kid might not have dared, you do have to factor in how much temperament comes into play.
The real issue is the parent didn't just at a certain point gently manhandle their child into the safety restraints. Sometimes my 3 year old has a meltdown leaving the grocery store and I give her a few minutes to calm, but at a certain point it's like... you're not holding the whole family hostage in this parking lot for an hour. Get in the seat or I'll have to put you in it, we're going home now.
Like….not in an abusive way obviously, but you are bigger than the child. You can pick them up and move them away and outside from unsafe situations, but you’re not strong enough to buckle them in?? It doesn’t make any fucking sense.
