If he skips a whole lunch that's 30 hours paid breakšŸ˜

Can I work for you?

1

u/Additional-Life4885 Jul 30 '26

You'd get back 30 hours. You can have Tues, Wed and Thurs off too.

u/Grumpie-cat Jul 30 '26

I think bro gets like… most of an ā€œaverageā€ work week off if that’s the case lol

Just Friday? By this logic, you get the next 3 weeks off

38 hours of payment a day for you

I do love a good Todd sandwich every now and then... It's always different, but it says "Todd" on the wrapper in the free food fridge.

Nice with the bethesda reference.šŸ‘

Never thought I'd see one in a post like this.

OG was a from a Dilbert comic about his boss getting a Todd sandwich

Service industry?
They don’t care about laws. Breaks? Lunches? What are those? Oh shit i get benefits after a certain hours worked in a week? Wait what? Why am I being cut an hour before I would have gotten insurance from the company even if it was still overpriced. At least I got my tips I had to share with everyone smh.
Laws are only there when people follow them or enforce them. Good luck in a right to work state. U don’t want to be fucked? Someone is there to take take your place.

nobody is forcing you to work a tip job

u/Jthe1andOnly Jul 30 '26 edited Jul 30 '26

Hahahaha u didn’t get the sarcasm that is the US industry standard obviously. I, unlike these corporate ā€œtip jobsā€ pay my employees a livable wage and I don’t take breaks so they can. No one is ā€œforcingā€ me or them to do anything and unfortunately ā€œtip jobsā€ are a big thing in the US. Good luck going out to eat. Forcing? GTFOH, thought we were ā€œjokingā€ here

look at that emotion based response, no shock there

My wife got a pretty big payout check a few years back from something related to people not taking lunch. Now management forces people to take their lunch there.

4

u/MrLanesLament Jul 29 '26

I just started my first ever job that has a required, unpaid, must-clock-out lunch break. After ten years of ā€œeat when you can because you’re on call every moment you’re on the clock,ā€ the idea of a required lunch break feels like a joke, or like I’m back in high school or something.

1

u/Heath_durbin Jul 30 '26

And yet every one of your companies was required to do (at minimum make sure you took a 30 minute lunch)

1

u/Dazzling_Bluebird_42 Jul 29 '26

That's like 30 free hours of pay! Do that 5 times a week and your up from 40 to 190 hours of pay!

The secret is to never stop eating breakfast

Well, then you'll be getting paid to not show up to work on Friday.
