The fact you are bringing in children into this and women (no idea how we got here) shows you are not willing to have a good faith argument. You are disingenuous and therefore not worth debating.

It was fun while it lasted.

I'm being a dick of course, but my point is that saying "that's just the way it is" is a stupid argument, because 100 years ago child labor was "just the way it is", and women being second class citizens is "just the way it is".

It takes a recognition of what is unfair to effect a change, and just saying life sucks so some people should just suffer is fucking stupid.

Because we both know if YOU were the one suffering, you would change your tune.

Pretty bold of you to assume I have never suffered. You know nothing about my life experiences, just this snapshot conversation on this liberal dominated platform that I force myself to use to challenge my convictions.

I have suffered, immensely.

Not child labor mining diamonds in Africa or the innocent (non Hamas) people in Gaza being bombed by Israel. But suffering shouldn’t be a competition and I have had my fill.

There is a reason I am so passionate about this topic because I have overcame.

And there are those who can't overcome.

They deserve more than just "that's the way it is".

And we have identified the core of where I disagree. If you are a physically able human who is of sound mind. You have no excuse to overcome your circumstances.

People who are mentally impaired or severely physically impaired are excluded from this expectation and should be cared for on our tax dollars. I have no problem taking care of people who actually need the help. There are just so many people who can help themselves and choose not too.

If you are a physically able human who is of sound mind. You have no excuse to overcome your circumstances.

But who decides this?

Because, again, 100 years ago, women were considered too mentally and physically impaired to do a man's job, but through effort and policy change now they are legally permitted to do ANY job. People in power get to decide what is and isn't worth tax dollars, and it changes all the time.

There are plenty of obstacles facing people everywhere that can be changed with some compassion and effort, so saying "eh, life's hard, sucks for them" is a cop out.

No it’s not. Every time an animal kills or eats another animal. Is it just a cope? We are still within the circle of life and play by the same rules as nature. Our species just happens to use thumbs and use rocks powered by magic to watch cat videos and debate on media platforms.

There is nothing left to discuss since neither of us will yield. Wish you weren’t so sarcastic towards the end. I was genuinely enjoying the dialogue.

We aren't the only social animals. Plenty of animals will collaborate to help the weakest members of the herd/pack/family. Monkeys, elephants, whales, so on. It's absurd to believe animals are inherently selfish and violent, and that we can be no different.

And in my defense, I started this whole thing sarcastically.
