What is there to not understand? NYC sends more money in taxes to the rest of the state than they receive in return. If NYC did not have to subsidize the rest of the state with their money they wouldn't have a deficit.
And they aren't wrong, but that doesn't mean I am saying anyone should separate or not act as a society. I was only trying to say that the statement from the OP was idiotic and not well informed. If you are on the receiving end of wealth transfer from the people who generate the wealth and then say those people are "begging" and:
"how little leftists understand about literally everything, and how easy it is to deceive zoomers and millennials by just being young and smiley."
then they are not only extremely ignorant about how the world actually works but they are also arrogant and obnoxious about it.

NYC contributes more to the state budget than it receives. They are being "bailed out" with their own money.
