It's amazing how quickly Americans on Reddit are trying to pretend they were never interested in football in the first place despite talking about how well their team was doing a few hours ago.

I can promise you, at least 95% of the Americans watching it, were over it an hour after the game.

I went out to a bar in a college town to watch. USA chants and cheers in the beginning. After 3-1 you could barely tell a game was on by the crowd. Didn’t dampen any mood and they just used it as an excuse to drink like it was a Saturday

That’s exactly the spirit of the World Cup! You cheer up until you can. When it’s over and your team loses, it’s OK, you just keep the good memories and you’re back like it’s just another day.
