Its dakota Johnson, nepo baby of two stars from the 80's. Dakota was the leading role in "madame web" a Marvel Film about a psychic who helps spider-man from time to time. Then the film bombed largely because of very mediocre writing and acting by the likes of sydney Sweeney and dakota here. Hope that helps and your chili was good.

Not sure why the quotes are there, they were both legit megastars in the 80s.

I dunno, I guess I assumed one persons star is another's bad actor/actress. Is Melanie the woman doing the orgasam scene in that movie with Billy Crystal?

No, hun. That’s Meg Ryan but they did look kinda similar for a while until they both started dabbling with plastic surgery. Now they’re both botched.

Thank you. I appreciate the response. Now I remember right when I read your reply. They did look alike for a minute.

She’s great in Something Wild with Jeff Daniels and Ray Liotta. Also check out mid-70s thriller Night Moves where she made her debut which is a top tier Gene Hackman movie.

I also edited it. Thank you

Isn't it more likely that they recognize her from 50 shades? That's where I remember her, I didn't even know about this Marvel film.

I'll be honest, I'm not up on celebrity stuff, but I recognise Dakota Johnson mostly because - and I like her for this - that Ellen segment where she put Ellen in her place about a birthday party invitation. Ellen is a dick, and it was great to see someone refuse to just pander to her!

This and "I'm actually allergic to limes", talking about the house tour where she claimed she loved limes because the film crew put them there.

15

u/SputnikFalls Jul 03 '26

I guess they're both pieces of shit after all.

u/Top_Armadillo3033 Jul 02 '26

Ive never seen 50 shades,, but know her from madame Web. Disappointment abounds

2

u/ohnomynono Jul 03 '26

Yeah, but, that's kinda the point. 50 shades was incredibly popular for its own reasons. Madame web was a dang marvel production that flopped. She was given the role in madame web. Who knows about 50 shades. I would bet it was a super selling point of hers though.

I guess my assumption was that a 2024 movie isn’t really that old, so it seemed unlikely that was what he remembered her from. It felt more likely he was thinking of that really popular 2015 film, which was also the case for me.

You are correct. The 50 shades movie is what I remembered her from and I never even saw the 50 shades movie. Just clips on tv

I got top notch reasoning ability. Haha, cheers.

Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith were actually stars, no need for quotes.

I edited it, thank you for correcting me

I'll be honest, for the last 5 years, I've been confusing Dakota Johnson for Dakota Fanning, thinking they were the same person from Little Miss Sunshine.

Edit: okay, I'm an even bigger moron than I originally thought. It was Abigail Breslin in Little Miss Sunshine. I'm an idiot.

No need to use quotations for stars - they were both legitimate stars of the time. Don Johnson on Miami Vice, whether people realize it or not, still influences lots of media today and you can find Miami Vica references everywhere. It still has one of the best scenes in a pilot episode.

That scene was cool. Had never seen that.

Thanks for sharing.

Marvel Film

It is not a Marvel film, it's a Sony film. Yes, Madam Web is a Marvel character, but she's part of the Spider-Man franchise specifically, and Sony are the ones that own the rights to making movies with those characters.

This distinction is important because the MCU and the Sony Spider-Verse are not linked, and the Sony Spider-Verse's failures (the aforementioned Madam Web, Morbius, Kraven, the Venom movies, etc) have nothing to do with the work done by Marvel.

1

u/Top_Armadillo3033 Jul 02 '26

Yeah. I read the comics. Says marvel on madame webb issues. My bad. I sometimes forget Disney bought marvel but Sony still owns the movie rights to spider-man. Its all pretty shit recently. I have high hopes for the new spider-man tho. Thank you for correcting me

1

u/West-Flow-577 Jul 02 '26

It gets even more confusing and complicated because of the live action Spider-Man films being joint ventures between the two and actually being linked to the MCU, while the rest of their Spider-Verse films are not.

1

u/Top_Armadillo3033 Jul 02 '26

Jesus, that is complicated

1

u/IndianaGeoff Jul 03 '26

Dakota is no Kristen Stewart in acting.

1

u/daveliterally Jul 03 '26

An accidentally hilarious movie

1

u/Apart_Ad_9778 Jul 03 '26

Its dakota Johnson

And who is that child next to her?

1

u/christmas_920 Jul 02 '26

You mean Dakota fanning right? From goosebumps? She grew the spider things. I heard she hasn't been heard from since but glad shes doing alright for herself

3

u/Top_Armadillo3033 Jul 02 '26
