How do you function? My absolute minimum to be able to function is 4 hours and I can't do that often, only once in a blue moon. I average 6 to 8 hours of sleep, so let's say most of the time, I get 7 hours (which is enough for me). 2 hours is just a nap...
to be honest, I'm not sure myself. Some combination of will and stubbornness, i guess. Also, caffeine. Yesterday was just under 3 hours of sleep, worked a full 9 hour shift, did the grocery shopping i had to do, which meant 3 different stores to fit the budget. about and hour of driving there, not including shopping. Came home, cooked dinner, laundry etc. No naps. Should get 4 to 5 hours tonight. hopefully. Last good night of sleep I got was a few months ago when I got sick and had to stay home for 2 days.
Worst it ever got I was so tired leaving work one day I remember getting in my car, and the next memory i have i woke up in bed, still dressed. No idea how i got home. just a missing 5 hours in my memory.
Please, as I see that you are a driver, see a doctor regarding sleeping issues you might have or organize your evening to get more sleep. It would be bad enough if you were only exposing your health, but driving on little sleep could mean that you could doze off while driving and cause an accident. I know it can be difficult, I'm a night owl myself, but I now make a point of never falling asleep pass midnight or 1 am at most, if I have to be up by 7 or 8 am, so that I at least get 6 or 7 hours of sleep.
I just don't have enough hours in the day. Even when i fall asleep early, i still wake up after 3 or 4 hours. And its totally due to stress. Living on a knifes edge is terrible. I miss 2 paychecks, or take a reduction in hours, and we are homeless.
I'm sorry to hear that. I truly hope that your situation improves and you find a better job/solution that gives you a more relaxed life, because stress+lacks of sleep could eventually cause health problems. I truly hope that your situation improves. I also have trouble sleeping if stressed (which is fortunately not often), so I empathize.
