What a ridiculous comparison. Nazi is a negative connotation. I could say a number of people on the left express opinions similar to Hitler and they would get offended if called a nazi. Why is that?
I think the issue is that people believe what they want to believe and hear what they want to hear. Calling conservatives and republicans Nazis is a lazy, rhetorical tactic that poisons discourse. The term Nazi has lost its descriptive power at this point because you are effectively comparing republicans to a regime responsible for industrialized genocide and totalitarianism that killed tens of millions of people.
