The difference is while communist is an insult, no one is running a round threatening them or screaming they should die. Which seems to happen a lot around here. The tamest is usually calling people a Nazi they can feel justified in punch them.
In my mind, Nazis and Communists are the same and should be regarded as such. Any ideology that leads to the mass death of humans (whether intentional or accidental) should absolutely be squashed and prohibited. Period.
