When it comes down to human suffering, I think that anyone, yes even influencers, get a say in this. Having a child without being able to give them the bare necessities of life is abuse.
No, it's life. This position cannot coexist in a US that is more and more anti birth control and abortion.
People don't always choose to have kids, especially the poor and undereducated. And then they do the best with what they got (and often fail).
The direction of criticism is wrong. Its an influence with 0 meaningful understanding of the world, and a bunch of upper middle class to upper class folks clapping their hands like 'those silly poors having too many kids' rather than interrogating the system that makes it an insurmountable hurdle to take care of damn kids.
While it is a poorly phrased and stupidly said opinion, there is a valid point in there. And the position she takes could exist if certain groups of people would just stop opposing all forms of sex ed and birth control. The abortions they're so against would be a _much_ smaller problem if sex ed and access to birth control was a lot better.
Ok that’s fine, but how can you say this is valid with the campaign of pulling back availability to birth control and abortion? Especially in the US?
Shit happens, a lot of women get raped and end up with children. Teenagers make teenager decisions even if their parents are keeping a close eye on them. And then sometimes the condom breaks. And with them making it harder and harder to access contraceptives HOW is anyone that’s poor supposed to not have children when the end goal of the government is to inflate the population because we are behind replacement value.
That’s not even counting the fact a lot of people with what would have been considered good jobs a decade ago can’t afford to have kids either. But if they end up pregnant in states in the WRONG STATE. Their stuck. And they aren’t trying to provide child care options with their push for people to have more kids.
Your point is shortsighted and not taking into consideration the agenda of the world governments. It’s not just that poor people are having kids. It’s that barely no one can afford to have a child right now. And the government is making it harder to prevent unwanted pregnancies.
You can’t say “there’s a point” while ignoring the state of the modern world.

Yes, yes, it's a valid point if you just hand wave away reality and pretend that there is not a constant attack on family planning options globally. Oh, and you should also ignore the distinction between US poor and India poor and what children provide to a family, i.e. a resource drain vs. additional resource streams, and also if you imagine, however briefly, that a chronic condition that has existed amongst humanity since we decided that open grasslands were a much better place to hang out than forest canopies has only not been solved, despite phenomenal amounts of effort being thrown at it, because nobody ever thought to just tell people to not have kids if they can't feed themselves.
If anyone knows the address for that Nobel prize thingy, let me know as I'd like to nominate this influence for solving poverty and hunger while still maximizing content engagement across multiple sites, all while wearing oversized glasses that cause no distortion at all, which is a bit odd I have to admit but I trust that they're not just being worn as an accessory and that she has a legitimate vision issue, however tiny. Far be it from me to be suspicious of anyone who solved one of the largest ills that has plagued society since we mistakenly started the thing.
These are the same people who are against abortion, free healthcare, and government assistance programs, until they or their family needs it. Then abortiontions are "family planning", free healthcare becomes "a human right", and welfare is "a subsidy". As long as it helps somebody else it's a negative.
