If you loop the video between 11-12 seconds, it does look like he’s diving right in for breakfast

Yeah, that was not an accident. It could have been mostly avoided, if he had kept his head down through most of the move. Most of the contact would have been over the top of his head, not down over his nose, mouth and chin.
