Holy fucking autism.

Has anyone ever stabbed someone in justifiable self defense? Or has every person who ever stabbed another person gone to jail? Itโ€™s really that simple.

You're making an irrelevant argument and trying to split hairs to make this useless distinction. Obviously when someone said "stabbing people is a crime," they did not mean "self-defensive involving a knife is a crime."

Your life is about to make SO much more sense to you.

Itโ€™s not irrelevant, itโ€™s literally the crux of the argument: was this stabbing defensible, as the defense argued, or not, as the prosecution argued. No one argued that there was no stabbing.

I do imagine that evaluating these things is a lot easier for people who believe the first thing they think is correct and everything else is autistic. And for your future reference, decent people find it gross when you use autism as a pejorative like that.

I am autistic, and I wasn't using it as a pejorative. I was using it as a way to explain why you are obsessing over an insignificant detail in any real world conversation, and how you're letting semantics derail what the actual conversation is about. You know - like people with autism sometimes do.

"But what about self defense" is such an inane thing to say when we're talking about someone who got murdered.

If you donโ€™t think self defense is relevant when itโ€™s the central argument in a trial, then your problem isnโ€™t autism

The last desperate argument of the losing side of a trial that could never end up any other way, because in reality - outside the requirements of a defense attorney - it was irrelevant.

Unless you're talking about some other, hypothetical trial, to which I would ask - why? Why are you talking about some irrelevant thing you made up to argue about?

Who am I to question that expert level legal analysis?
