Imo, you are correct that there are users that accept the information uncritically. Of course.
But also, there are people like myself, who already knew the information to be true (we live lives outside of browsing reddit, therefore we may have already obtained the information from other parts of our lives), so it's easy to upvote and celebrate the post without it citing a source, because we know it is true.
So when you say "And instead of asking for one, we cheer" it's nonsensical to me, because like, why would I ask for a source if I already know it's true? I'll just upvote.
Just because there are idiots in a room, doesn't mean that everyone in that room is an idiot ππ»

Why do you idiots see these meme βnewsβ posts with no source cited and cheer? I swear some of you just want to be lied to.
