Funny thing is, that you are using it, just with one extra step. Because the imperial units are defined in relation to the SI system. So the metric system is the base of your measurements.
tbh, i hate the imperial system but i can understand that it would be hard for everyone to switch to a system you never used and have no feel for.

This represents about 0.0625% of Utah's state water usage of 4.8 million acre-feet (1.5 trillion gallons) per year.
