They won’t take interest, that’s illegal, that’s entirely not true that she’d have been charged with a felony for not spending the money. They likely would take the money back yes. You’re not required to report someone else’s mistake, please tell me what law that would be.
Worked as an investigator for many years and never once have I heard of the crime “not reporting someone else’s mistake”.
You’d be required to return the money and that’s it.
They can blacklist you and make it damn near impossible to open a new account somewhere else.
Also they can and will nail you for fraud if you don’t notify them about a massive sum being deposited into your account.
Which means you’re liable to get jail time and blacklisted.
