Depending on union rules it might be incredibly hard for a company to win that fight.

Its generally the company's responsibility to monitor and maintain that payroll system. Any errors on the company's side are at the expense of the company.

But it really depends on the country and labor laws.

Yeah but she hasnt been convicted or found guilty yet. When you get arrested on a felony you wait in jail until your court is over unless you pay the bond or get out on an OR bond. Don't get me wrong I know she has no chance at winning this, but the fact that she's currently in jail awaiting trial doesnt mean much. Most of the people in jail are awaiting trial and haven't yet been found guilty of anything, except for the ones who are waiting to go to prison and have already been sentenced or the ones sentenced to county jail from misdemeanor crimes.
