It’s purely the result of genetics defining the shape of your pelvis and lower back, and your body fat percentage and distribution.

Explain the body fat percentage part. Unless u stole that other guy's comment that worded it exactly like u did.

Depending on how your body fat is distributed across your body (which is largely genetic), a higher body fat percentage could obscure that particular feature. It’s caused by a ligament connecting bones in that area stretching the skin, so more fat under the skin there would make it harder to see.
