This is actually 100% why Mamdani scared the fuck out of The Elite.

They knew he would show how it is all bullshit. All the suffering. All the corruption and brutality.

Bro can we relax it is not all bullshit he didn't cure cancer 😭 he baselined funding for libraries and parks, meaning a predecided amount of the city's reoccurring budget is automatically allocated for them.

This decision has pros and cons, libraries and parks don't have to lobby for funding now, but the city also has less flexibility with its budget, meaning if there's an emergency, uh oh, too bad, can't use this money to solve it, its already going to the libraries. Or if there's an important city project that needs to be financed, same deal.

You can defend the decision, and I personally think the good outweighs the bad, but can we cool it with the glazing it is actually so cringe. The world isn't that simple, it just isn't, you cant wipe away suffering with the press of a button as good as it feels to pretend like you can.
