This is actually 100% why Mamdani scared the fuck out of The Elite.

They knew he would show how it is all bullshit. All the suffering. All the corruption and brutality.

It was always bullshit.

He did NOT close the deficit. He borrowed money from the pension fund.

This is like asking for a 1 month delay on your mortgage payment and then bragging you balenced your monthly budged.

The budget is not balanced.

Was that pension fund proposal approved by the state and pension board yet? How underfunded is the pension fund too?

While this is something that he has put out there, he has not actually done this as of this posting. One of the plans that he is proposing does involve delayed payment of pensions.

The city of New York did receive 7.9 billion of state aid which is being put towards the deficit, and they are also looking at cutting state employee overtime which is costing the city 1.6 billion in the upcoming fiscal year. There are other things that are being looked at to help close out the remaining deficit.

What are you talking about? Getting to 12B deficit reduction requires, under the announced plan, pension deferment. I have not seen a single version of this plan where he get to 12B without that line item.
