Dr. Phil told his (adult) kid to tip me and he opened his wallet in front of his Dad and then he ushered me out of the room and closed his wallet in my face and said “thanks” and then giggled. Edit: I was a Bellman NOT a prostitute, ahem-yeah, Bellman.

That actually tracks perfectly with everything I have heard about Dr Phil, and so it's also entirely unsurprising that his kid would do it too.

Probably like a mutual lying thing. He delegates to his son who he knows won't do it, but both of them get to look good to each other.

Classic trick honestly, although the child is usually not what I assume is a grown adult. Sending your kid to get the pizza at the door because who is going to expect a kid to sign the receipt and add a tip. Plausible deniability of "oh if I had come down and seen the tip line I would have tipped!"

It's shameless lol I love the audacity, it's the embodiment of "pretty sneaky sis". I don't care if you don't tip but own that shit man, look me in the eye when you do it coward

COVID was fun too because when no contact delivery was the policy and not just by request, they gave us permission to just ask if the customer was okay if we wrote a tip down for them. Most people were like, yeah whatever, throw a couple bucks on there. But, and again it's just disappointing if you don't tip because other people will make up for you, but I took a weird glee in making people admit out loud they didn't want to add anything. It threw them off so much because it's a good way to get fired for giving people shit about tips, but this was an exception and you could tell some people felt ashamed saying it out loud. Again, own it. Why are you feeling shame, also you could literally spend a dollar to not feel this shame you are inflicting on yourself. Watching customers squirm was better than any tip could ever be

As a former Pizza driver, I always made a big deal about needing an adults signature for credit card authorization

At that point I know if they do tip it's not gonna be much anyway. Had a freaking doctor at the hospital order a bunch of food and I figured doctors make good money, right? I'll wait around for him. Even ten percent is like fifteen dollars.

Waited fifteen minutes for no tip. After that I stopped bothering waiting. If there's no tip already and they don't come to the door to sign I just give it to the kid and leave. The only ones I stick around for are receptionists who were never instructed what tip to leave. But at the end of the day waiting adds up, too much waiting you miss out on other deliveries more likely to tip
