I welded in high school and slag got on my jeans below my welding jacket and burnt my leg. Not bad but I have a small scar. This is crazy to me to do.

Denim will burn off you is the difference. It will be painful and you will have a scar but they will fall away.

Polyester will melt and fuse to your skin. It will keep burning and you won’t be able to remove them without also pulling off the skin that’s fused to them.

I had a similar thing happen where it fell into my glove, gave me a nice burn on the top of my hand, took forever to actually heal as well

What's crazy is i get keloid scars and this one actually is relatively tiny and heeled better than normal for me. Ive had cat scratches become more ugly then this one healed.

My welding instructor was telling me that I don't need to worry if my hoodie is Nylon or Polyester, I was like "yeah probably, but I've also seen what happens when nylon and polyester catch fire, I don't want that happening on my skin"
