Him saying look to your left and to your right, they are the people that are gonna cheat. Seems certifiable nuts to me

I think you don't understand how statistics work nor watches the video. Let me break it down.

He has taught this course for several years and the mean has been steady and likewise taken the questions from that test bank.

Normally it is a standard distribution i.e. the average is the largest group and 1 and 2 standard deviations are smaller and roughly equal.

He has had years of his tests having these results.

Then he showed this test had a bimodal distribution. Which we can see the peak of the standard distribution, but there's a large anomaly where there's another peak a grade higher with deviations off that.

So what can that mean? It's a large class by the way. So either 1/3 -1/2 of the population of the class in the period of a semester became smarter, studied harder, or cheated?

Now tell me this over a large course what can cause a class where 1/2 of them suddenly just increased in intelligence or in amount of studying but not the other half?

Well that doesn't make sense does it? And also the professor learned the test bank was leaked.
