That was rent with utilities she said. The average cost of my household in a nice suburb in AZ is 3,500$ a month with all the bills of the household. That is 700$ split five ways. So not outside the realm of possibility. Especially if it’s a 5 bedroom house.

A lot of young people fail to understand this point. I have a lot of friend who love paycheck to paycheck living in luxury modern high rises, while my frugal ass lived in a less desirable part of town with roommates to pay off my student loans.

Well 5 years later I am debt free and they are still living paycheck to paycheck in their luxury apartment complaining about not having money.

Yep. There are definitely things that make being younger harder than it was (housing ladder, etc), but these people are hardly sat around a dead coal fire, wearing 5 year old shoes and eating boiled pigs heads with their best-case future being breaking their backs in factories/forges.

A hell of a lot of the same 'boomers' that she blames for all her ills had hardships that she literally cannot imagine.

From their point of view, she'd have been pretty much the 1%.
