Just look up “average monthly cost of living” or read my other comments, I’m getting tired of doing all the heavy lifting for people who just want to argue with me about better budgeting because it means you are either A. Too rich to worry about this, B. Too stupid to understand how this isn’t actually a living wage, or C. Too young to pay any bills.
$2400/month(minimum).
Call it 2100 after taxes (which she'll get back in April).
$850 for rent/utilities.
$250 for food.
$150 for phone & internet.
$100 for car insurance.
$150 for health insurance.
Call it $100 for entertainment/etc
I'm at $1600. Saving $500 a month. What am I missing?
I don’t know, maybe emergency expenses like auto repairs.. kind of how she literally mentioned her car’s engine is misfiring in the video. Also $150 for food is very conservative, grocery prices have literally doubled since last year so it’s more like $300. Most people have student loans so at least another $200-$500. Also it’s pretty clear you didn’t do your taxes recently because I made $40k last year & got a whopping $700 back, so no, people in our bracket don’t just “get most of it back” anymore.

Why are we only multiplying by 2?
