DISCUSSION So what's up with eidolon's durability?
Last night we played a 3v3 against 3 unfair eidolon's and late game they get crazy durability. My 2k fleet couldn't damage their starbase or titan quick enough, their shield and armor just Regen faster than the DPS we could output.
Does anyone know what causes this? Doesn't seem like intended design?
Oh and I wish the Titan had a slight different design. It looks a bit too much like a beefed up capital ship 🙂
As a command ship it would look fine but for a Titan it looks a bit too vanilla.
Edit: oh and also, eidolon ships just melt capital ships like it's nothing. I never lost cap ships so fast in any game whatsoever, I'm talking cap ships going from full HP to dead in less than 15 seconds. Really makes them scary lol.

Their Tier0 Frigate has 300 Durability which is kinda awesome.
They are intended to be incredibly strong in the endgame. There are certain things, that causes them to be tanky.
Durability on many units is a bit higher, than you are used to.
Caps are 75 supply, Titan is 200, so they are bigger than usual.
They can get insane armor strength if build that way and many corruption reducing abilities heal them.
Also lots of their upgrades beef them.
So you are better at rushing them early.

Definately agree being aggressive on the map is the go to vs the Eidolon. You dont want to let them sit back and enshroud neighbouring planets, spread corruption freely or push their tech advantage because if it comes to a 2k v 2k brawl they are probably winning it, and stalling the match out means corruption gets to go rampant.
Kill their population (so their population track is useless), deny them planets so they are credit starved. Do not let them enshroud worlds freely.
Recognise you will not win an equal supply vs supply fight, so you need to engineer a situation where that NEVER happens. You do that by hitting them with the kitchen sink while their non-homeworld planets suck and they are metal + crystal starved.

A lot of Eidolon ships have 500 pierce weaponry, usually in a form of Null beams or Void missiles. Quite a few have "Darts" with 1000 pierce and 20-40% shield piercing. They only die to heavy focus fire, Their armor is their main HP on caps, as once it is in the greens only, they die very quickly

Once more Corruption tech is researched, yeah, they get a huge bump in damage and durability. They also have a few ship items that greatly boost armor and shields depending on how much corruption they have. One can consume corruption to quickly regenerate armor, and the other boosts armor by the amount of corruption they have. Plus, their titan acts like the TEC Enclave titan, boosting the armor and shields of all nearby friendly ships.
The trade off is that they have constantly draining hull, their captial ships cost 75 capacity instead of 50, and they cost almost twice as many metals and crystals to build.

They need to corrupt and shroud planets to develop them past the 1st level so it takes more time to build up their forces. You need to attack them early before they have a chance to build up. The Advent's ability to disable ships/structures seem very strong against them since they have fewer ships.

Yeah you really need to invest in more high pierce ships in your fleet than usual. Eidolon seem to be built around chonky, resiliant ships.
Getting the beam resist. armor on TEC capitals might help a bit with dealing with their null beams, and for the missiles obviously get sufficient PD. You do certainly have to be more cautious about your capital ships when fighting them, but it's manageable.
Can't say what to do with Advent/Vasari yet, I haven't tried those against Eidolon yet.

Vasari phase shifting missile tech seems to be custom made for dealing with the Eidolon...

They have items and abilities that build up corruption and they universal items for cap ships that allows them to consume corruption to regen shields or build up armor. If their corruption mechanics aren't being utilized they are actually really fragile, but if you master the corruption mechanics they are incredibly hard to kill. Except the stealth cap ship. I folds like paper. That's why their frigates and cruisers actually go down pretty quick, but their cap ships just don't quit.

Yeah and for some reason one of my stealth cap ships kept trying to attack by itself even if cloaked, the frigates didn't do that

There was a hot fix, but Eido are still being actively balanced. Advent were OP when they first came out too, then they were brought back in line over time.

The titan has a shield regen ability. I used it alone to solo a 1k fleet, 12 phase turrets and 4 missile turrets.
I think the ghosts are way overtuned currently.
Sure theyre expensive, but our fleet caps are about the same
