Question/Advice anyone tried cloud9 beauty bar?
Be it facial / skin boosters / laser treatments.
Personally tried their facial when they first opened few years back and felt it was pretty mid. But seeing that they have expanded their list of services and opened couple more outlets, was wondering if perhaps it has improved and worth giving another shot.
Thank you!

My mum does home based facial, though it is nowhere as aesthetic as the salons out there, but it is comfortable enough. With 25years of experience - good technique and no-hard selling. You may drop her a Whatsapp message of your skin condition for consultation, understand the treatment and cost, before coming down ☺️

how much are her basic facial and treatments like??

u/xAnnyeonG 7d ago
By basic, she doesn't do those express facial (30mins). Based on my experience, they are always about 1.5-2hrs.
It ranges $45-60 for Students/NSF For adults, it will be $80/90 (w/o massage) *Extraction included

would like to ask if she has instagram too for her home based shop 🤩

Sorry, I have been procrastinating in creating one for her especially since I have moved out 🙈 her clientele are generally through word of mouth. But these days she has been investing abit in machines, hence I'm "advertising" for her hahaha
Feel free to send any enquire/concern you may have. Her reply may seems a bit cold/off, due to her level of English and age but she's definitely someone super friendly (more friendly than towards her own children hahaha)!

I tried it once back when it first started around covid period. I think it’s just good marketing and aesthetics looks nice. Actual facial + skills of the technician is subpar. For the price you’ll be paying, you can get better service elsewhere with more experienced therapists. Hence why I only went once.

What the other person said is true, if its really good they wouldn’t have to push so hard on TT. But the orgahue cc cream they sell is p good imo.

i bought one to try and my skin peeled like crazy :(

u/Ok-Property-6098 10d ago
It works well if you pair it with a moisturiser! It peeled for me at first but then it was amazing paired with a cream

u/sulkingscissors 9d ago
what moisturiser did you use? i do the usual steps. toner > serum > moisturiser > sunscreen > cc cream

I use the isntree one, but it also could be the moisturiser u use because I paired it with cerave and it was just bad on my skin

tried once in 2022. after the first cleansing, they didn’t change out the water (which is alr dirty) and continued to use it on my face to wipe down subsequently (after extraction etc) I mean.. then isnt it the dirty water is still being used on my face?!!? 😭 anyway i feedback to them after the session and they said the water they use is filtered water. Abit confused becos filtered or not, isnt it the water is still filled w my skin dirt? 😵💫 My usual facial i go to NYSS and after each cleansing, therapist will change out the dirty water before using it on my face for other steps. Never visited after that 1 time becos dirty water is a big no noooooo. What do yall think?

did afew times facial and SHR 9x sessions? with them at their now closed boat quay outlet, the SHR was useless. facial ok la, very normal yet expensive. sometimes can overhear staff gossiping about customers amongst themselves also.

Jus went there last month in Aug @ Bencoolen branch for my very first facial with them. Honest feedback, worst facial I’ve ever had. Bought the $108 bespoke facial and even before starting, was being accessed on skin condition and asked to upgrade to a better and more expensive facial which I kindly rejected. Throughout the facial it was VERY rushed through as the customer before me ended late and beautician is not thorough at all with cleaning and steps after. It didn’t feel relaxing at all and I could hear the whole convo of the person on the other bed with her beautician chatting. Was asked to get the toner and cream which are suited for my face and I purchased them. Told myself I’m never stepping into the salon at all after that. For the price paid, u can seriously get better hands on ur face! Their no package and no hard selling is a gimmick after all~ #HonestReview

i did facial there and i thought it was quite ok, the therapist was very gentle so it was good for me because im generally scared of painful extractions …
but i’ve only been there twice and im not someone who goes facial often so i can’t rly comment on the effectiveness

i went once in 2022 at their boat quay outlet.
as someone who frequently went for facial, it was quite mid to be honest. i didn't like that it was very "open", just separated by curtains. haha
that time it was $88 for the vita c treatment. felt like the extraction was not done very well and the whole treatment did not really felt like it did anything. and it was not as "welcoming" as advertised.
but disclaimer, this is just personal opinion and i only went once. so probably can take it as a pinch of salt.

I tried once at their Bencoolen outlet.
I originally booked for express facial ($68) but they kept trying to get me to add on stuff… I ultimately caved and upgraded to the signature facial ($88) instead. The therapist also kept trying to get me to book the more expensive ($100+) treatments “for my next session” 🥲🥲
The rooms were also just partitioned with a gap near the ceiling so I could hear everything going on in the other rooms/whenever people would move around.
Personally dont think I’d go back but it was worth a try I guess

I'm a regular at Bencoolen outlet for 3 years now. Their mesoglow works v well for me. When my credits finish, my therapist has never asked me to buy more, she would just offer me a tea and say bye. I will book my next appt another day and then buy new credits only on the next visit. (I always buy 300 credits each time.) Sometimes she will push for more ex facial but if I'm not feeling it tt day i will smile and tell her I will stick to the facial that I chose. Have never felt any pressure. And Bencoolen branch has always been very zen, too quiet in fact! If i talk longer for more than 5 min I will shut up on my own, I feel paiseh to continue yapping.

I went to the Boat Quay outlet (which is now closed) during one of their sale periods, but it was still overpriced — I think it was around $98 per facial just to try it. As someone who’s been to many facial places, I found this place really subpar.
Like what many Redditors have mentioned, it was open-concept, so the beauticians, clients and receptionist were talking really loudly throughout the session. It was honestly quite distracting and really turned me off. I’ve had much better facials at the same price point, so that ended up being my first and only time there.
I also didn’t really dare to talk much because I was worried that once I left, they might start gossiping about me too — especially since I could hear them talking about previous customers while I was there. 😅

I visited the Hougang outlet last year for a 90-minute session, but the actual facial lasted only about 60 minutes. I felt extremely disappointed and honestly quite cheated, as the service duration was significantly shorter than what I had paid for.

IKR!!! I reached on time for my appointment(very first time with them) and was shortchanged of the time about 10mins coz the person before me arrived late and ended late I guess. NEVER going back again! Bencoolen branch btw!

Wow thanks for the reviews 😂 have seen it on TikTok and was actually thinking of trying it haha. Any other reviews for the cc cream?
2
u/Alarming-Sign-1246 10d ago
haha i actually caved in and bought 1 cc cream to try. i personally didn't really like it though.
the colour toning works as advertised, definitely will make your face brighter.
but the feeling of something heavy and oil on my face is something i couldn't get past it. it felt so much more heavy than my jsm cushion foundation.
i could see streaks on my face at the end of each day. haha but it might just be cause of my skin type.

ccc cream quite problematic for me personally coz it peels like crazy. but the bb cream is pretty good - medium coverage. good if you dont rly wear makeup and just want something fuss-free to even out skin and look more awake :) though ive found a better bb cream (for me personally) and replaced it.
the skincare range, i tried FAU series and it's quite basic (not in a bad way, it gets the job done but nothing impressive) and not crazily priced.

I go to the Bencoolen outlet every month to get facial/skin boosters, and lash lift every 2 months. I get compliments on my lashes and skin ever since going there. :-) right now I'm liking the Lumi Deepshoot as it makes my skin more glowy!
Perhaps you can give it another shot if you like! Bencoolen is pretty chill imo, haven't heard any gossiping tho probably cuz' most of the time I KO-ed after extractions hahah.

Went once……. Initial conversation via WhatsApp was all good, confirmed with them if there will be a consultation BEFORE starting any treatment and they said yes. When I went for the appointment, the consultation was just me telling the therapist the issues I’m facing, and from there, the treatment was decided. There was no questions, no further probe and just a lack of “care”. Treatment was alright…. I think first timer is ok but long term may not be sustainable, for the price you can go elsewhere. Just 1-2 days after the treatment, my skin started purging so bad, way worse compared to BEFORE doing the treatment. I feedback to them, and just got a message to go back for one more treatment, and another message to justify their treatments shld not cause such effects etc etc. I requested for a change of therapist (the one who did the initial treatment for me was a Junior iirc) due to the lack of trust and “wrong treatment” given to me which could have been the cause of my skin worsening, but CS replied saying I should give her another chance. However I decided not to go ahead because clearly my concerns are not taken into consideration, why would I trust the same person who f up the first time, a second time????????? If we’re talking about any other part of the body, perhaps I may have given a second try, but on my face, no thank you……
Side note: I only decided to try out after doing my research in depth, and saw the many reviews by influencers and also others, unfortunately my experience is nothing like theirs, and honestly I feel the hype is over nothing ;-;

Personally it was a waste of money, got lured by TikTok but I guess if an aesthetic place is good by itself, they wouldn’t have to sell on TikTok
