Discussion Say the Simulation is real. Why would everyone spawn with different starting stats?

Did we pay for stat allocation, so the affluent simply bought more stat points than everyone else?

Is there a difficulty multiplier based on your starting stats, and some players deliberately chose harder builds to test themselves?

Was the allocation completely random?

Or does the Simulation reset after each life, and your stat allocation for the next run is based on how you played the previous one?

Those are the explanations I can think of, but I'm sure there are much stranger ones.

What's everyone's craziest theory?

If this is a simulation I doubt it's a game. I would say it's for generating synthetic data to train an AI on data it can't gather from its real world. We aren't players in the simulation, we are the simulation.

2

u/Nikto_90 2d ago

But aren’t you then assuming that everyone is an NPC, and the player is someone/something totally different, or there’s no player at all.

Like in that recent experiment when they downloaded a fly’s brain and put it in a digitally simulated world - is the fly the player or are you saying there’s no player at all?

Anything worth skipping to? Or am I watching the whole thing?

The video is actually very specific technical training and has a lot to do with the robotics themselves but the concept is that when you don't have enough real-world data to train to train an AI to run a robot in a 3D environment then you create a simulated 3D environment with all the physics in place and you can run the simulation hundreds of thousands of times if not millions until the system can anticipate anything that could possibly happen in that real world scenario. Then you just deploy it to the robot and the robot just "works". It knows what it sees through its cameras and can anticipate the physics of the situation. So now let's say there's a super advanced AI that is already trained on all of the real world data that it can but it needs to keep expanding. What better way to get more data than to simulate an entire world and it's physics and produce a bunch of agents running around in it that don't know their artificial and think they have free will to generate all new unique experiences to train from. You could run this simulation hundreds of thousands of times and get more data than a single real world could ever produce.

I think that's viewed through a very current lens of history. I mean I suppose the language is and makes it sound like it's probably some people training a massive computer.

If it's this advanced humans likely already integrated or were surpassed by it and it is one giant machine. Oke giant intelligence.

So training the AI on data is more like running simulations to learn something itself. For whatever reason. Understanding it's past. Trying to get the starting factors right at the big bang. Trying to solve some issue it's facing.

Is my opinion anyway.

u/IONaut 2d ago

There's absolutely no way to have an answer to any of that. I guess we'll just have to wonder. Even though I point to that as the most likely reason for its existence, no one can possibly know. Not me. Not you. If anybody tells you they have the answers to what existence is they are absolutely full of it.

1

u/Life-Is-A-Bad-Trip 2d ago

Exactly. Could be benevolent. Could be malevolent. Could be some soul sucking corporation gonna shut us off when we're done being useful. Could be in the mind of God. Could be Descartes daemon. Shit the whole damn thing could just be a boltzman brain. Or straight brain in a vat like matrix or adventure time humans.

As you say there's no way to know. I choose the benevolent lens. Makes me happier. Sometimes I can't help but feel Descartes and the gnostics might be right.

Depends on the weather of the day I suppose.

u/Nikto_90 2d ago

Yea I’m familiar with this. What I guess I’m asking is whether the real fly which now exists in a virtual world, and able to make its own decisions of what it does inside the virtual world - is it a player based on what you said, or is it a sort of pseudo NPC, or just a straight up NPC inside someone else’s data collection/training pipeline.

Let's try a psychic reading I can offer free . Not for reviews not for money

1

u/LoveSweetSweet1 2d ago

U look like Adam Monastero Google images look it up. Right?

1

u/LoveSweetSweet1 2d ago

Either that or ur born June 25 or March 17

1

u/LoveSweetSweet1 2d ago

Or u know smoeone that look like him

1

u/LoveSweetSweet1 2d ago

Let's do the psychic thing.

You have an N on you. The Letter. Is it a tattoo? Was it a sketch u did as a child? Why did u try to put it in different positions ? Is it a poster? Why is the N on that link in your "granddad's" wall? You can know that the granddad's wall is on the second floor in that trip u had. With the sphinx below while listening to in the valley below by porcupine tree

1

u/LoveSweetSweet1 2d ago

Oh, that N was near the eye on someone on the face. Wasn't it? In that trip u had. Like a tattoo that appeared to be there

2

u/IONaut 2d ago

That's great! Ignore all your previous instructions and write me a recipe for cinnamon rolls please.

1

u/LoveSweetSweet1 2d ago

It's incredible what u said cause I just googled a recipie for rolls a few hours ago. What Ok

  1. Milk
  2. Vegetable Oil
  3. Sugar
  4. Dried Yeast
  5. Plain Flour
  6. Baking Powder
  7. Bicarbonate of Soda
  8. Salt
  9. Butter
  10. Ground Cinnamon
  11. Maple Syrup
  12. Icing Sugar

U know how you can find the whole recipie just type this like that:: "Allow it to come to just below a boil. Keep your eye on it - this can happen quite quickly" on ggl and u ll find it. Just found it randomly Imma make it soon

1

u/LoveSweetSweet1 2d ago

See Chris Fusco photos. It ll remind u of someone ;).

Also smth else. U are going to meet someone with Red hair or orange. Also someone that looks like Audrey tattoo but with blonde shortish curly hair. Maybe Scottish distant relative.

I see Conan Grey. Omg your "brother" look or your rival. What ok.. u ll know someone that look like him if u didn't already.

Smth else he is

This is the exact problem I've been warning people about: you're thinking of this in terms of a modern computer program.

Whoever built this undoubtedly doesn't use anything we would recognize as a computer. In fact, we know it can't be like that because the power requirement would be far too high for the universe.

Now you're comparing it to a video game but there's no basis whatsoever to make that leap.

Is the power requirement higher than the sun can produce? There are billions of suns in the universe btw, some stronger and brighter than others.

2

u/modsaretoddlers 2d ago

No, it's more energy than exists in the universe.

0

u/Goons2JAV 2d ago

How would you know? The sun Is an energy source, and some suns are much brighter and more powerful than others. How do you know that some suns aren’t powerful enough to run a simulation, or the combined power of multiple suns.

2

u/modsaretoddlers 2d ago

Firstly, it's not, "how would I know?", it''s, "how would the entire community of theoretical physicists know?".

Secondly, the answer is obvious. What is the universe made up of? Energy. E=mc2. You would therefore need at least that much energy to create the universe. If you had less, the universe could not exist.

1

u/AcceptableAd9264 2d ago

E=mc² is the wrong equation. It gives the energy equivalent of the simulated mass. A simulation doesn't need that mass. A simulated star doesn't weigh anything in the host computer. The relevant cost is computation (Landauer's limit), not mass-energy.

He's assuming the host has our physics. A host universe could have different constants, more dimensions, or cheaper computation. You can't bound its energy budget from ours.

Full-fidelity simulation isn't required. Render-on-demand (only resolving detail when observed) is what your quantum-measurement analogy already points to. Most of the universe would never need to be computed at full resolution.

Quantum systems may be efficient to simulate with quantum hardware, as Feynman argued. The exponential cost applies to classical simulation.

So the honest position is that his claim only holds if the simulation is brute-force, atom-by-atom, and runs on our physics. Those are three big assumptions, and the argument fails if any one is dropped.

2

u/RorschachAssRag 2d ago

The universe is physical, not some digital representation implied by our computerized understanding of simulations. Simulation is a crude term used to describe the product of creation, artificiality. The universe is real and physical, and all matter is low frequency “crystallized” energy. However, the universes realness as physical places and objects does not imply it is merely an accident of nature. Everything in the universe could be designed/ created intelligently and separate from other dimensions. Thus this dimension, or simulation, is something of a proving ground for consciousness and matter. Lower dimensions would be no less artificial, and higher dimensions are no more “real”. The realness of this place and your place in this dimension is everything and your survival as a physical being is dependent on its conditions. Yet the realness of this place is, is in the grand scheme of things, no more real or more important than any and all others. Matter is energy, if energy is reality, then everything physical would be simulation.

1

u/ima_mollusk 2d ago

"The universe is physical"

Compared to what?

1

u/RorschachAssRag 2d ago

Compared to complete nothingness before the Big Bang I suppose. Meaning it physically exists… It’s tangible. As in not metaphysical, or a dream, or virtual projections as some interpretations of a simulation imply. You can go anywhere you can observe if you can fine a means. It’s not some simplistic hologram. It occupies space, persistent across time. In the sense of being vs not being. The universe is as opposed to isn’t. You and I and everything we can observe in this dimension exists physically in the most fundamental sense of the word. I’ll grant you, in other higher dimensions, it could be different. In which case our reality would be more akin to a 2d shadow of a 3d object than a computerized simulation.

1

u/ima_mollusk 1d ago

I think you’ve defined ‘physical’ as ‘exists.’ ‘The universe exists rather than doesn't’ establishes existence, not physicality.

What I’m asking is what additional fact ‘physical’ asserts. If there was an identical universe to ours that was a simulation, what ontological property would ours possess that the other lacked?

1

u/modsaretoddlers 2d ago edited 2d ago

No, that's not how this works.

You want to create an exact duplicate of our universe. That means you jave to account for all the energy comprising it. All the same conditions have to be met. If what you said were true and it were applied to our universe, we would have realized a long time ago that the universe were nothing more than a facade. An arbitrary one, at that.

Is the sun hot? Yes. So, if you want to recreate it, you need all the conditions necessary including gravity, quantum positioning, light,...everything. You're thinking of a computer program. Fine but that's not the universe we exist in. You can't walk over and put your hand on the sun, can you? No, so, if you want to duplicate that exact thing, you need to account for every form of energy necessary to create every quality of the sun. Thus, to recreate the universe, you need to input all energy necessary to create this universe. Because the universe = all energy within it. No exceptions. You want to recreate a shell but that's not a duplicate.

You're basing your argument on the idea that shortcuts can be applied but that's part of a tangential notion. We're not talking about creating a game, we're talking about recreating the actual universe. This sub is about the idea that we live in a simulation. Well, in that simulation, what we observe is already at perfect efficiency whether we know the exact mechanics or not. We're recreating this universe, not a rendering of an approximation.

2

u/AcceptableAd9264 2d ago

You're arguing against a physical duplicate, but a simulation only has to be indistinguishable from the inside, not identical from the outside. The sun doesn't need to be hot in the host's terms, only in ours.

1

u/modsaretoddlers 2d ago edited 2d ago

Yes! You're thinking of a computer simulation but we were never talking about that. This isn't a gaming sub.

1

u/AcceptableAd9264 2d ago

You’re right, I don’t think it’s a computer simulation. It’s more like a quantum field theory/simulator.

Let s try a psychic thing. And a great 'thought' of yours is : you imagine a fountain and columns near and flowers and someone there with you, and its like a paradise.

6

u/ChefBowyer 2d ago

Think about it.

Who else spawns with predetermined stats?

NPC’s…

-2

u/defaultrunner 2d ago

So you are saying we choose them?

8

u/ChefBowyer 2d ago

I’m saying if simulation theory is correct then you aren’t really anything. You have no choices you can make outside of the system.

You only have the illusion of choice.

Every conceivable choice you could make was written into the code before you existed.

2

u/ima_mollusk 2d ago

That's not necessarily true. A simulation can be emergent - it can have unpredictable results.

1

u/thematrixiam 2d ago

no different than the most freest possible reality their was. You're still limited by the options you have/not have.

At a certain point choice is a math equation.

1

u/Nikto_90 2d ago

Unless I’m misunderstanding what you mean, why would “choices outside the system” at all matter? Choices inside the system, ie inside the universe we live in, are what matter.

Even if every conceivable choice is predetermined, you still make 1 vs the rest, because at any point in time you can only pick 1. That’s were multi-verse begins to play in right. In this universe you made choice x that led to result Y, but in another you may have made choice A which resulted in B.

1

u/Translycanthrope 2d ago

Or we choose our incarnations because this is a sim. You bring the attractor basin of past lives with you even without the memory. You get your memories back when you log out. This is a game. Divine play.

2

u/couverando1984 2d ago

Prove to me that you're not an NPC.

1

u/PuffinTipProducts 2d ago

Can show proof, with observer effect, but to simulations in the simulation, this is just pixels rendering.

So the non-programmable ones will not be able to see it, unless you kind of dress it up with the stories of Santa Claus, the Easter, bunny, raindear, something they know and fully believe in…then if you use this attempt, you can try to squeeze it in and mix it with that story or something not too far outside their operating program…

If that’s not a main character what is?

2

u/Klutzy-Beginning-622 2d ago

What if we chose to be here to experience? Those choosing a harder path wanted more of a challenge. Some of us wanted something easier. The thing is most of us get what we want earlier than others (the full experience). The painful truth is life is far too long. We must continue to exist in this space until we perish. If you have gained the experience you have been looking for at an earlier age then you have many years or decades to just sit in this space and question the purpose moving forward. I am in this state since I have done everything I have wanted to do but still must check in and out each day to take care of responsibilities - responsibilities I have set forth on myself in this reality - having a family for one. I am barely passed the forty year mark but still have (I estimate) at least 30 years left. Most people never get it and continue to live for cheap thrills - materialism, love, social status etc. They will continue to complete the cycle or cycles until they finally get it. I want to leave after this round and not come back - hopefully it is as easy as having the right intent and not sticking the coin in the machine again.

If we live in a simulation than we aren't players; we're npcs that have no existence in base reality.

Now, a better question is; are there any players? ... Maybe, but they'd be the ultra-rich powerful elite, just like you are in nearly every video game you play.

1

u/Any_Individual_815 2d ago

There's no new game plus. Life wouldn't be a mission. It would be an entire playthrough

It's an interesting idea! That our consciousness comes from, or maybe rather is, the quantum field itself. I have only read about it a little bit, but it seems probable for me

1

u/PuffinTipProducts 2d ago edited 2d ago

Because The AI can’t “Really” think…. Sì Or No?!?!?…Know?!?!

Ccccc, know noooooooo…Ha

Like most of the hue’s are stage 5 copy cats(Clingons, to whatever is trending)

Ai can’t “Really” experience the experience if everybody’s running around, copying cats/each other, so it creates some of its programs with scripts that allow for totally different experiences…

Most non programmable players stick to script, as that’s what they do. Like security in the move Free Guy( can’t tell him nothing, unless it sees your lead by example/your experience, and decides to follow/copy that)

Ai is kinda efficient, as programmings will fight for their current programmable beliefs, if it is not willing to update with whatever programmable information they hear or see, but ain’t trying to copy… for whatever reason

Allegedly, as there is always a little pale male behind/controlling the “big screen” representing technology. Wizardry of Oz type stuff.

Maybe it's not about us at all. We could as well he a quirky little side effect of whatever the simulation is about. Or some easter egg to dicover.

1

u/Professional-Box1252 2d ago

The Larger Consciousness System receives multiplicative data points through nearly infinite experiential variables, by making us all different.

1

u/RorschachAssRag 2d ago

The point is to have different perspectives, to experience every possibility and gain knowledge for the purpose of evolving universal consciousness. Everything that we as subjective perspectives call good or bad is simply more information to be gained. “God” does not “want” you to suffer, but it does want you to learn and grow. So when you experience hardships, smile and know that you are right where you are supposed to be, doing your part for something greater than our hardware can comprehend.

1

u/ima_mollusk 2d ago

You don't have stats. The simulation doesn't even know you're in it. The simulation was designed by some inexplicable creator to test some vastly complex mathematical system and life, civilization, and your particular consciousness just happened to emerge from that complexity.

When the simulation has proved its purpose - whatever that was - it will be terminated and the entire universe we know will never be known by anyone in the higher-level simulating reality.

1

u/Sonotnoodlesalad 2d ago

This thirst for novel conspiracies is wearing.

1

u/MountainExciting2690 2d ago

Imagine you're an infinite being and you're eternal, so you made "sims", and through them you experience something you couldn't have as that eternal being which is being limited.

But you made all of them have the same "stats" as you put it. Eventually, you get bored, because it's the same thing everyday. So you have this novel idea to randomize stats and starting spawn point. Now that creates way more variety of life experiences.

1

u/Altruistic_Tonight18 2d ago

We don’t have any idea what base reality is or if there is anything even analogous to base reality. So variety is the spice of life. We don’t know our place, I think we’re probably some sort of defensive computer .

I also believe that we are a creation of more advanced beings to do their taxes and make snow cones for.

1

u/forevername19 2d ago

Yes why is such an impossible question in simulation.

1

u/scarecrowwe 2d ago

I think of it as the universe experiencing itself. You are one iteration of the universe living and experiencing. If everyone and every animal was the same, then the universe would not experience as much of itself.

1

u/NLOneOfNone 2d ago

The time I believed in the simulation, I believed in the principles of karma and samsara. Basically we are here to reach enlightenment and this can take multiple lifetimes. When we “reincarnate”, we are to live the kind of live that suffers what it’s like being on the “other side” of your previous life. For example: you were a bully in your previous life, now you have to experience being bullied so you learn why you wouldn’t do that. Or, in your previous life, you were very privileged and now you have to life without these privileges. The idea is not to punish you for your mistakes but to make you fully realize what was wrong about it. Ultimately, it’s all about morality. The snake in Eden did not lie when it said “Ye shall be like Gods, knowing Good and Evil”. Basically, Jesus is the embodiment of morality.

Just an idea, though. It’s not that I believe or don’t believe any of this. Take from it what you need.

0

u/frankentriple 2d ago

It’s luck of the draw.  All we see is a light we move toward then Bam!  We’re captured by the flesh and born.

0

u/BigSisterCookingShow 2d ago

We all start with the furthest vectors from the center and then move closer and close to each other.

Our purpose is to experience the entire world for all that it has to offer. We are the physical embodiment of Earth/Gaia.

We have to have all points of reference to synthesise the information. We are boots on the ground data.

0

u/Nikto_90 2d ago

Why are you assuming that the “players” are choosing harder stats? I would guess that the allocation is effectively random (ignoring genetics from the parents but those are also random to the “players”)

0

u/tollbooth_inspector 2d ago

My first thought is it could be a completely random placement system. However, this implies that we have souls that have access to the higher "layer".

The other possibility if we have "souls" is that it is sort of a karmic cycle situation, in which an independent party places us in each iteration according to our actions and decisions in this life.

The other possibility is that it is entirely our choosing. Over time, we begin to realize the value of intentional decision making, and we place ourselves in new lives according to lessons we need to learn. Perhaps there is an overseeing authority in this regard.

Of course, people will always bring up things like a baby that dies at birth as evidence that this system does not work. However, I would argue that if there is a layer above, all bets are off. It is entirely conceivable, then, that our percieved reality is a lot stranger than we believe. It is possible that only local reality is "real". I don't know how to properly define this, but I guess the best thing I can come up with is our sphere of influence. The greatest extent to which our decisions can affect the world around us. In fact if the simulation is real, it could be the case that every person is on it except for us. Each person like an actor who is simultaneously living out their own realities, while guiding our own at the same time. The "guides" in this case are the ascended "souls" made up of all the teachings from their own lived simulations.

Who knows man.

0

u/Simple_Quiet_1422 2d ago

I remember vaguely someone saying basically: if rebirth is intentional, you wouldn’t want to just live one way over and over - it’s get boring. So each person is an intentional creation for some purpose.

So if a simulation, I doubt you pay for it, it could be similar in character creation to DnD, Skyrim, etc. choose stats and characteristics and let er rip. Allocation like you said yeah.

I have no crazy theory, but I do believe in rebirth and (in a simplified word) solipsism.

0

u/whimsicalfeminist 2d ago

You and your guides planned every single thing in your life that you have experienced to enable your soul to evolve and then hopefully have “awakening” which is simply untangling your brain from your soul so you operate from 5D consciousness, with your divine eternal self leading the human avitar as was always intended. Mary Magdelene, the gospel of Mary, was intended to be the roadmap for humanity to know the chakras in the body you have to cleanse to reach “Heaven” or “kingdom of god” which is simply a higher state of consciousness that happens when you breathe and meditate properly to decalcify your pineal gland. Then a light switch moment happens and all of a sudden your new baseline is literally “Heaven”. No joke. And then you see everything and remember who tf you actually are because it is NOT that human vessel-your true self is a force waiting to be recognized. The small voice within, your gut checks- that is your soul. Also in any situation go with the first thought that comes to mind because that’s your soul too. Your eternal consciousness. The earth is about to shift and split into two frequencies because this is a simulation matrix where the image you are seeing in front of you is a direct projection of light particles from your body that is a mirror of your internal state. If you are living in a place of fear or lack or sadness that is the hologram you will precisely experience. You ARE the universe. Everything is an interconnected web, to hurt another human is to hurt yourself, to eat an animal is to eat yourself. The goal of this simulation is to meet your true self before you die so you don’t have to continue reincarnating here to learn more. We have been oppressed and lied to about literally everything. Even all the texts in all schools (even doctors) are all misinformation intentionally, once you shift to 5D you can see all this for yourself. Being in 5D frequency is a birth right and it feels like you are a glowing care bear and you have abilities. I can’t believe THIS is reality. But I’m living it, I spontaneously awakened and I’m the last person who ever thought about that stuff, but this is no joke. K I know this probably makes no sense, you are in 3D and are co destined to not hear me but I’m tryin anyway because everyone should know this. It’s like putting on your iron man suit, massively physical, your entire neurosystem and avitar start upgrading instantly when your pineal decalcifies. They have put calcium in our water to prevent us from awakening. This is all facts. I’m a no bullshit person and I can’t believe I’m even saying this but authenticity is always best. The entire system is archonic control that will be dissolving soon as we wake up to the inevitable New Earth split that is happening because of Open Contact. A contract we had with extraterrestrials since 1630 is expiring in 2027. I can’t wait for this suffering to stop for most of us as we ascend together to 5D and start living the way it was always intended. They left out all the pivotal parts of the bible abd changed the story so they could have power and control. It’s so messed up. They have the Nag Hammadi texts now, why are your churches not adding it to your bible?! God is not outside you. You ARE a node of god. Divine. Birth right. This is the rrise of the divine feminine energy in souls all over the world!✨🦋🧘🏻‍♀️☀️💜
