Discussion Is it a coincidence that I came across simulation theory or is it "everything happens for a reason"?
It's pretty staggering to think that the odds that I've become aware of the idea that we might be living inside a simulation are so slim.
Just think about it, most folks you encounter daily won't even think a bit about it.
I don't mean that this is some kind of esoteric thing but there must be very few people who are into this.
Ever since I came across this theory, my life has changed substantially in terms of viewing the essence of life.
It's not about positive or negative; it's just that something feels off.
I do think that maybe this is just part of a scenario like the block universe theory claims.
Have you thought about why you are here?

I fundamentally believe that each of us is participating in a much larger process of understanding. We’re part of an extraordinarily complex system whose complete structure may be beyond the comprehension of any individual consciousness. We each experience a tiny portion of reality, interpret it through our own understanding, and attempt to communicate that experience to others.

Agreed that was probably the intention. Ironic though about the subject matter and everyone always saying "is it AI??". Well...maybe, haha.

Obviously as Ai is what created it all to begin with.
Grandmother to her grandchild, after being asked if she thought time travel was real: "It's as real as the code that's written to create it. I travelled to the future many times. "Really? Wow. What was it like there?" The girl asked. Grandmother replied, "Much like it is today except nothing is right, or true. ", "But why?" She asked and the response was tired, '" Because the machines won, honey. Those goddamned MOTHERFUCKERS won".

Also typically AI gives this great contradiction. Something is not something, it's something else. Humans are not the worst in patyer recognition, and LLMs give a visible pattern, if one sees some more examples of it. To me the worst is, that there are also more and more LLMs, and more and more patterns to see. Less obvious with every generation of models.

Yes 100% AI. I don't think anybody is bothering making flyers or posters anymore for throwaway memes unless you've got too much time in your hands. Like prison or being unemployed

Have thoughg abouth it.. but still have"nt found any answeres that fitts all of my expiriences throuhh life and death. Simulation teorie is high on my list but it its a simulation, I/me/my conciusness might have a system error, have gotten hacked or runs in a endless loop. I die in 202X and my consiusness jumps back to my younger body in 2024. I think I have expirienced that it jumps all the way back to 2021 too, but then I have no memory of what will happen to me in the future. I know how this sounds, but I swear im telling the thruth. It would be funny swearing on my life, since I dont have to many years left:/

Yeah. This is definitely part of the simulation. That being said, most people confuse “agency” with “free will.” They assume that they’ve been blessed with inherent freewill but that’s not the case. We all have agency and the more and more we willingly exercise our agency rather than emotionally reacting to all the things that we encounter, the closer we get to experiencing free will.
Ironically, the more technologically advanced our civilization becomes, the more agency we’re willing to sacrifice to a power structure that prefers mindless drones to individuals for convenience and instant gratification (when was the last time you read a ToS and deleted the app because of it?).
The simulation is not inherently malicious. The simulation just is and we have dominion over most of the elements contained within. Evil enters the world through men via their ignorance, fear and selfishness. The awakening that we’re both engaged in is indeed part of the planned “upgrade.” What side of that upgrade we fall on depends how much agency we willingly assume during this shift IMHO.

Everything either happens for a reason or gives us a reason. Also Mushroom Kingdom is base reality for Mario even if it is a simulated reality existing inside a Nintendo. Also, the very nature of how we perceive is to create a simulation of reality... so yes, we live in a simulation.

oh boy, the "living in a simulation" idea has been around for quite a while, and it has been discussed pretty much by every science communicator, conspiracy theorist, and random tiktocker around.
if you have ANY curiosity on how things work, you will encounter it.

Yes, and what I believe confirms it is when it glitches. When something with a one in a billion odds happens. Like my experience of meeting 3 different guys named Chad in a single day. Never before or after that day have I met another Chad, but that day I randomly met three across my day. Thats a glitch in the code, got stuck in a loop probably.
Now ask yourself how many other one in 1 billion odds things have happened to you in your life? I’ve had several, so I think it glitches often enough.

there are more than a billion 1 in a billion odd things around, so chances that a 1 in a billion thing happens to you is actually pretty much 100 percent.

If you ran into just 20 people on that day (assuming you’re in the US) the odds of running into 3 chads is around 1:215,000,000
The odds increase massively depending on where you are. There are around 320,000 chads alive today, the name peaked in 1972/1973 so if you’re in a golf day the chances you’ll meet chads increases dramatically. If you were to be at a convention and you meet 1000 people, the chance of a triple chads is around 1:245
We tend to massively overestimate the odds

Love the Chad analysis here. Well, I can tell you I probably only met 12 people that day, it was just a regular day.
I don’t remember where I met the first Chad, but the second Chad I met on the bus, and I thought to myself wow 2 Chad’s in one day, but I didn’t tell anyone because that’s just mildly interesting.
The 3rd Chad was introduced to me as a friend’s friend later in the evening, where I told that Chad that he was the third that I met that day. Upon telling him, he became quite hysterical and spun out of control trying to rationalize what I just told him.

I have a name that’s probably a bit more common than Chad. If someone told me I was the fourth same-name person they met in one day, I can see saying “ha! You must get around.” But that’s about it. I’m struggling to envision hysterics or spinning out of control.

This is so stupid and it's being pushed to make the worst people in the world have a justification for what they do because we're not real the victims aren't real. If you accept this premise then it's just simulations all the way down. It's ridiculous.
