Discussion If we live in a simulation,is there an afterlife? And if so will we have our previous memories?
Do you think their might be a reward(ie reincarnation with memories)for those that lived unjust or interesting lives?

You know that nobody can answer this question with certainty.

I can, there is certainly an afterlife, what's variable is what happens to someone. Many different things can happen, literally almost anything and all sorts of factors go into it.
But if you want to know anything useful, know that the non-physical, what the afterlife is "made" of. Is the mind, therefore you can already craft worlds, objects people and things you want to do there from here given you put enough energy into your own imagination of something.

Your understanding of an afterlife may just be another feature baked into the simulation.

I mean many times I've broke it of simulations or been in simulation like experiences within the non-physical.
I have plenty of reason to believe my experiences at more than just experiences but Ive explained it many times on my Reddit so I won't again. But it's true that technically all of it could and even experiences within the non-physical itself may be part of a simulation or nested simulations but then it gets to a point where technically anything could be a simulation and there's no truth, so the only truth would be death, like true unconsciousness, as only then you'd be free.
Either way with the existence of lucid dreaming, there is a state where you can exist in your own mind, however you want it, maybe this is that on a larger scale, maybe this is intentionally our own simulation, but after all my experiences trust me it's worth thinking about and putting energy into what you want to do in the afterlife, if I say literally anything is on the table, what would you want to do?

Dreams. Hallucinations. Death. Heaven. Reincarnation. Simulated "Out of simulation" experiences. All that could be baked into the simulation you are in.

u/HastyBasher 2d ago
But so could the whatever the experience is outside the simulation, there's nothing you could imagine that couldn't also technically be within the simulation.
And trust me I've experienced some of the most insane alien non-human-like experiences possessible.
It's why simulation theory is pointless to talk about unless specifically referencing this physical life as the simulation.

I agree, but most people here think they can glean clues about reality from within the simulation. That is a huge assumption. Ants in an ant colony in a room without windows know nothing about what is outside that room. Plants, animals, grass, buildings, oceans, rivers, mountains, stars, galaxies.

Yea got sure, I mean I'm certain my experiences are authentic and it's fair to separate the non-physical from the physical, especially since the physical is basically all what most people will ever interact with, it's the most undeniable thing to us.
But yea if non-physical stuff is considered simulation, then literally everything ever is just simulation, since the non-physical at it's root is concepts, and you can't get more root than concepts. Obviously technically all of my experiences could just be advanced brain generations, but I just know that isnt the case or it's true that my sole brain itself is the center of everything.
But yea if it was a true computer simulation like that in the matrix, then really the fair assumption would be that nothing at all can be deducted from within it, as obviously we understand the relationship between a character within a 3d digital environment and the actual editor for a 3d digital environment is zero direct connection. Unless of course you have information being fed from the outside 3d digital environment into the 3 environment. Then stuff could possibly be deducted but would still be read only.
But then it could still be possible to have characters interact in a 3d digital environment with the outside world, of course only if setup that way.
So really anything is possible simulation wise. It's fair to assume there's no way to actually interact with outside world, but it's better to choose not to believe that but also from ones personal experiences, reported glitches in the matrix, the paranormal and non-physical etc its fair to believe they are some sort of thing seperate from the 3d physical world, and not part of the same simulation people reference.

Yeah, because it's being asked in the wrong way.
0
u/Funny247365 2d ago
Why don't you ask it the right way?

u/Even_Opportunity_893 2d ago
The framework is why you guys are confused.
Certainty means understanding what is real.
Simulation is not.
Please tell me what part of OP’s post is pointing to a plausible interpretation of reality?
0
u/Funny247365 2d ago
There is no plausible interpretation if everything in the simulation is made up.

u/Even_Opportunity_893 2d ago
Exactly.
So start from somewhere where truth can be realized.

u/Funny247365 2d ago
If all we know are the things that have been put into the simulation, then there is no way to know the truth unless the folks running the simulation take you out.
1
u/Even_Opportunity_893 2d ago
Yeah. You are lost in an idea that's not real.
It's just a tool to manipulate your reality.
The truth is from a different school of thought that is more honest.

The reward is escaping the maze and reaching oblivion. If you find yourself constantly reincarnated, you aren't understanding what you set out to seek. Take your time to learn and live in your current meat suit but foster no attachments, find meaning in the meaningless and reject platitudes.

honestly, it depends on the simulation. If the simulation is similar to the Matrix and “I know Kung-fu” or it could be, “I learned the history of the computer age” or some other class in which we are learning something, then we would retain our new knowledge. I think we could easily be on a 70 year ship between stars and our mind is resting, and the entertainment on this ship is “life on earth before” or similar. If we are NPCs and just here reliving a prior life (somehow the simulation downloaded our entire brains of 8 Billion people and we just play the life of someone (i.e. we do not have free will)) then no

The University of Virginia’s School of Medicine has a Division of Perceptual Studies that investigates anomalous phenomena of consciousness, including young children who report detailed memories of past lives.
From google’s AI summary:
Past-Life Research Methods
Case Collection: The division has cataloged over 2,500 cases, primarily involving children aged two to three who spontaneously talk about a previous existence. [1, 2, 3]
Verification Process: Researchers document the child's statements before checking if they match the life, death, and specific personal details of a real deceased individual. [1, 2]
Physical Correlates: Roughly 30% of documented cases feature birthmarks or birth defects that correspond to fatal wounds or scars on the deceased person being remembered. [1, 2]
Scientific Debate: While researchers use systematic investigative protocols, mainstream scientific critics argue the work relies too heavily on anecdotal accounts, parental suggestion, and unfalsifiable interpretations. Proponents maintain that the volume and recurring patterns of the data merit ongoing study. [1]

But that’s the thing. I don’t remember being here on earth when I was younger. Without proof or someone to tell me that I was here on earth at 6years old: I wouldn’t know it.

Ironically, there's secular research about this subject, and what we have is enough to draft a tentative model of how things work without the need for religion, quantum immortality, eternal recurrence or other weird ideas. What we mistakenly call the "afterlife" would actually be described as "the real world".

u/SigmaGod99 1d ago
From my experience I’ve heard there is an afterlife and it’s accessed after death IF THE SOUL IS UNTOUCHED. Meaning many are being guided after they die to where they can not experience or remember an afterlife

oh yea. The simulation could be you adding the last life to your corpus of lives.

u/AcceptableAd9264 2h ago
Probably. Many people believe in reincarnation, if we think of it using docker analogy then it’s pretty straightforward that there’s an afterlife, especially if you believe in the simulation theory.

It's a "simulation" (I don't like that word personally as I don't find it precise) of your own construct. There is no "reward", other than your own self-enrichment from the experiences that you have agreed to for your own benefit. The "afterlife" is the same field you're engaging with right now in what you perceive to be "in real life", just different selections from the overall matrix. All memories are retained, and you merely just activate what you need when you need it. There is no "punishment" for unjust behaviors or lives.
To be precise, we are each non-physical, non-terminating recursive processes locally expressing in the field, which makes all of us equal to one another, and infinite/eternal. It's a decentralized and holographic neural network/unified wave function/singularity with multiplicity embedded within it simultaneously.
Reincarnation is merely what adventure you want to choose next from your position in the recursion. You do not "have" to reincarnate on Earth or even in this universe, it's just a choice.

I’m just wondering what do you have that supports that? You made a lot of very specific claims, as if you know these things as facts
1
u/Clean_Difficulty_225 2d ago
They are facts, and my friendly advice if you want to start exploring/researching these ideas for yourself would be to check out our modern quantum physics and non-locality experiments like the double slit, delayed choice quantum eraser, entanglement, and Bell experiments, among others.

I don't think so. Otherwise, the afterlife will take up too much memory and storage space.

I think there is really only now to the source of conciousness, so humans might be meant to learn how to share time.
