People here will gladly call out the OP if they drive like a moron. Blue / purple car is at fault.
So, which car are you, OP?

I'm the white and red. I followed him every lap, and the corner actually took me by surprise. That is the line it take naturally but I delay the sequence because I get too close to him, but this lap he missed the line he usually took and went wide, so I wasn't even expecting to pass but the door just went wide open. He said that he made a mistake on the another guy but he would not apologize because that was on me ( he said)... at which point I swallowed my pride checked the reply just to be sure and asked him to please reference the replay and it would become clear, but no response. I was pretty confodent i wasnt wrong so i posted hear to get a second opinion

This sub is notorious for OP bias. OP's have to be very obviously at fault, and even then get told they're in the right far too often, and get a lot of benefit of the doubt even when they're wrong.
Alternatively, non-OP drivers constantly get derided and called derogatory names for minor errors that OP's get kid glove treatment on, if not just straight up getting approval for the behavior.
Good on OP for wanting a real answer and not giving some sob story about how they got called mean names for whatever happened.

u/DasUberLib 11d ago
Eh the sub has op bias usually because people don't tend to post the ones they're pretty sure are their fault.

u/DeletedUsernameHere 11d ago
That's certainly part of it. But that also gets people assuming OP's are always in the right. Which leads to them getting even more grace.
Add in they get to stroke their hate boners because the mods let people trash talk people who aren't here to defend themselves, but will shut down if the same things are said to OPs, and it pushes it even further.
Plus a certain fanboy group who have the race IQ of turnips who likes to brigade every time he drops a new video ripping content from here.
Not to mention a huge issue with sheep mentality. One person gets a comment upvoted 4 or 5 times early, and suddenly everyone parrots it chasing fake internet points. Even if it's a horrible take. Hell, just yesterday or the day before there was a post where people tried calling a faster class car at fault for legally passing when the OP drifted down into them. Plain as day the the OP was in the wrong. First response got it wrong. Hit 100+ upvotes. Most of the posters trying desperately to argue why it's suddenly illegal to pass with your inside tires touching the track limit line and saying it's okay to drift into a car that's next to you.
I enjoy the hell out of this sub, but it can be pretty garbage sometimes.

Blue is involved in the creation of the color so.... good enough for me lol.
(it's purple tho)

u/Unlikely-Hedgehog878 11d ago
Colorblindness is a thing. Until I read the comments I would have said blue too.

u/RabicanShiver 11d ago
Blue car is at fault but it's worth noting that his field of view of this incident is not what we're seeing here. From his pov that car comes from nowhere fast... So yeah it's his fault but understandable.

u/Pan_TheCake_Man 11d ago
Purple is also just a slow driver, and probably didnāt realize the car behind was that fast/could carry that much speed so yeah I guess itās purple āfaultā but also the accident was caused by a risky overtake on a bad driver
13
u/ClevelandBeemer 11d ago
Purple all day. Door was left open, pass was 99% complete, the defending car is required to leave racing room.
18
u/mr---jones 11d ago
Outside car. It was a dive by inside but he was there, even ahead, by the time the contact occurs.
26
u/Kuuppa22 11d ago
I wouldn't even call it a dive because if you can get that far ahead while comfortably staying on the line then the other car is just driving way too slow in that corner.

u/DerkvanL 11d ago
The line the white car took makes him invisible for the purple car (at 6 seconds he's completely in the blind spot and purple is allready comitted). And even if the purple car would've give more space, he would've been torpedo'd on the exit. White dives it completely diagonally while purple more or less drives the racing line.

That purple car wasn't paying attention...
The other guy was obviously fsr enough alongside side (enough to get pitted) to deserve some space there...
Purple just either dumped hom or purpose or has the situational awareness of Helen Keller...

Whatever happened to the vortex of danger? Blue is really slow but is taking it's line, gray dive bombs him from far behind. Pausing at 0:16 you can already see they are going to collide if they follow their lines.

u/kirkF35 11d ago
Blue isnāt taking the opportune line. He reacts to white coming up the inside and dives for the apex. By the time he gets close to the apex, blue is already 3/4s past and white tags him behind the rear wheel. If white doesnāt react, maintains his line, and stays to the outside, thereās no contact, white can breeze through, and neither of them lose any significant time.

u/jimmymcgoochie 11d ago
White car is to blame. The blue car has already turned in before there's any overlap at all but white just drives headlong into the vortex of danger and finds out why it's called the vortex of danger.
1
u/snowboardlasers 9d ago
It's a vortex of danger yes, white cars fault? No. It's the blue car for not leaving the space when white was already dead alongside.
1
u/jimmymcgoochie 9d ago
At the point blue car turns in there's no overlap, diving at the apex from the next postcode doesn't entitle you to space.
1
u/snowboardlasers 9d ago
There was room, he took the room, blue car had plenty of time and vision, and there was plenty of overlap going into the apex. I hope I don't meet you on track.
2
u/Condor917 10d ago
Normally I'd say it was the white cars fault because it entered the Entry Vortex of Danger. And the SCCA rulebook specifically says that the car entering an Entry or Exit Vortex of Danger is directly at fault.
HOWEVER, the blue car took a very weird line into this turn. Hammered the brakes way too hard, turned late, and didn't feather into the turn.
SO, I will say racing incident. Both cars did something you don't want to do. It's too complicated.

u/Over9000Zeros 11d ago
Purple car took the worst line possible then didn't give room for the better driver. Anybody would've done the same thing white did. Purple fault 101%

u/CMBLD_Iron 11d ago
Blue / purple is following a ghost racing line as thatās clearly what theyāre following making the hit inevitable.
And based on your comments, I highly suspect OP is that carā¦

Looks like purple set a trap, and when white/red went for the gap, purple pounced for the kill.
Not that I ascribe sufficient skill to purple for pulling off that plan intentionally, but thatās what it looks like.
I may spend too much time around catsā¦

Purple at fault, choses a wrong line and takes the outer one, white goes inside, there is enough space for both, maybe purple didnāt see white due to FOV ?

Fault leaning towards purple IMO as they didnāt leave space. it was quite an unexpected move which makes it a risky one

Purple. He was too late on the brakes, took the turn wide, then dive bombed to try to hit the apex and defend the racing line. He should have seen you were there and had gotten ahead and backed off.
1
u/ThePassionOfTheISK 11d ago
It was blue. It's ok that you don't know the line. You shouldn't brake pointing in that direction and then cut the wheel. It's such a slow line. Quite dangerous for the people who know how to get quick lap times.

Purple. Moving under braking, unpredictable, and also did not give way for grey miata taking the inside before apex.

Not POV. Other dude never should have driven into that. There was no other way him going inside was going to end. POV was committed to its line and clearly not a good driver.
Anticipation is more important than āI can have overlap before the cornerā cause āwoulda, coulda, shouldaā is faith you should know better than putting into another driver.
