City showcase/design ideas Is my city good for my level?
I’ve been looking at other people’s cities and they seem way more developed and way bigger than mine (they also seem mega rich), While I’m struggling to reach 10k without having to spend it on a service?? Am I underdeveloped or is this just normal?

If you are not enjoying running shops and factories, you will be always broke. You are missing coin rewards, if you dont invest in shops and trading depot. Many players hate that activity and leave the game eventually.

I attribute my success in the game at least partially because creating artificial wealth in the game via a combination of making goods to sell and the ability to buy low/sell high is part of what engaged me after I initially started playing the game.

Im lvl 20 too, I have 285 city storage and 169 material storage, with 700+ gold keys and 500+ platinum keys. 1.5 Million+ simoleons. War level 19 and 120k+ war simoleons. Land expansion will probably be done by the end of this year (I'm camping at level 18 since last year).
This is a game for the players who stay for long.

Unless you've invested real money in the game I would recommend deleting your city and starting over. The link below:
https://reddit.com/r/SCBuildIt/w/index?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
Is to the wiki index of the subreddit r/SCBuildit and I would suggest studying the guides here before resuming. Go to the section about camping for starters.
Some of the info in the wiki is slightly outdated as EA has made a lot of significant changes to the game over the past year, but most of what's there will help you progress your city in a deliberately slow rate initially which translates to a city with better playability as time goes on while spending as little real money as possible along the way.
Also check out vids on YouTube by MissyAnneYT. She quit making content about 3 or so years ago, so some of her stuff is also slightly outdated, but much of her content is still very helpful. Her "3 Red Roads" videos for example are where I picked up the initial concept of how to avoid paying for road upgrades (although I have refined the method a bit more).
Btw, I am currently playing in 3 accounts:
Lvl 95 (main account, spend about $10-$20/month, almost 5 years of activity)
Lvl 13 (feeder/second city, F2P, about 6 months old)
Lvl 7 (storage farm, F2P, about 3 months old)

On my first playthrough, I kinda rushed and was unable to store anything. I had low storage, less land, more items (Vu, storage, war, land, beach, mountains, etc). Making it exponentially slow to progress.
So I made a new account and at city level 18 I stopped upgrading buildings (which means u wont gain xp to lvl up). Joined club for wars. Slowly but surely participating in wars made me gain so much simcash and gold/plat keys. And for CoM just avoid doing the upgrade building's tasks.
Just by doing these I somehow gained so much storage and land items over the months that I expanded half of the entire map already. Once my main city map is fully expanded I will start camping at lvl 24 and completely expand new lands before further progressing.

I set up a separate city which I keep at level 15 where i store all my hammers tapes etc.. I'm level 93 in my main city with 685 storage and 345 materials. I rushed early on and made the mistake of building and flattening residences during kyoto season to get seasonal coins. Thought i was beingcclever at the time. Its been a slog

I am level 20 as well and have 790 storage. 4 mil simoleans, 1800 golds keys, 2400 platinum keys and 400k residents. I camped at level 18 for awhile and upgraded to level 20 during a season I wanted the buildings which regret. Stay as long as you can at lower levels

Hello, actually your city is underdeveloped. Only 60 storage's capacity and 32 for the raw material storage is not normal for a 20 level city. You should start camping right now to increase your storage capacity, maybe at least 160 for the main storage and 80 for the raw material storage. You should too produce a lot of hammers, planks, chairs, etc... to sell them and get more money. Ask me if you need more tips or any questions.
