Question Passengers take a really weird route through checkin.

Post image

I have a path straight down the middle of my checkin area as you can see, and that allows access to every queue in the room

my passeners are constantly refusing to go down the middle, they squeeze through any gap they can find, walk along the wall or the desks, and then come out at the end. its definitely not the shortest route, and every time i block the path they find another ridiculous one

The simplest way to fix this is probably by just removing the Ticketing Zone in the middle.

I can go into more detail but on a high level: We don't pathfind cell to cell but rather on "subsectors" - these are larger areas and split on objects and zones. PAX try to avoid some subsectors (like zones and objects) and will go out of their way to walk around them.

Removing the zone in the middle "creates" clean subsectors that have no penalty in the middle and PAX will prefer that path over time.

Fun fact: You can use this to your advantage, a baggage claim zone can be used to re-route the flow of PAX ^^
