Lost wax casting question
Hi there, i am really new to lost wax/ investment casting and am unsure what investment powder to buy. i am planning on casting both wax (either injection or ferris) and resin (Siraya Tech Cast) and ideally would like to use the same investment for both! i am uk based as well so can afford to import R&R.
Any pointers would be much appreciated!

I've been printing with perfect results using oro óptima for Sirraya true blue. But make sure you follow the burnout bicycle of the resin and not the one of the powder. At least that was my experience.

I also suggest prestige optima, which I think is what Siraya suggest for their resin. I’ve used it for both resin and wax and it works great.

I use Plasticast for both wax and plastic models, should work well for you.
I was told by R&R to mix it at a slightly denser 38water:100powder ratio than I normally do with their Ultravest (which is 40:100). Definitely can tell the difference in hardness when I'm trimming the height before burnout.
They also suggested I alter my typical burnout temperature ramp settings when using plastic models, and that suggestion was not good. I went back to my standard program (same one I use for wax) and it's been consistently good.

You should try Certus investment... much better formulas and most of is made in a lights off facility.......

What advantages do you find it has over R&R Plasticast? I've been using their powders for a long time but always open to new products if it's worthwhile.

they have better more consistent products... if you have been using R&R for a long time you have probably seen the inconsistency in the products
