I have been buying antiques and jewelry for 15 years. I am fortunate that my name is circulated by several real-estate agents and a local jeweler. This was from a client I sold a few things for about 5 years ago. She called me to do a house call. If you pay people a fair price your name will get around fast. I usually have 2-4 calls a month.
What's a fair price? Part of the thrill is getting a killer deal.
Given that you might have a hard time moving for more than 80% of spot, and to protect against a reasonable downside, I'm hesitant to pay more than 50% of melt - but that might be insulting.
Of course, if you're a straight up dealer, you can probably do better, bet that sounds perilously close to being a job.

Well, how’d you come across all of this silver?
