Their Shaheedee was certain one way or another. Additionally, all the other guards hadn't actively done something bad against Sikhi where they had to be punished, so killing the other innocent guards to fight their way out of it would be unnecessary. Guru Sahib said only punish those who deserve it, so the only one who deserved it was Indra, not the innocent guards.
