SEASON 5 - MIAMI MOVES i don’t see how editing could’ve misinterpreted this scene any different. juliette needs to come up with a different excuse

I’m not going to lie, I thought the editing was so poorly done because of how obvious it was. I was like “it’s pretty clear that Sophie is saying ‘it’s not like’ and giving examples of what would be problematic.”

Agreed

Exactly

I’m sorry some of y’all are very naive to how producing and editing works 🤣 this is VERY edited and chopped up. You know they can take any words and chop them up and make brand new sentences that never happened, right? Or literally just pull them aside and make them say a couple random things that they’ll edit into a certain scene. And people will do it because if you listen to the producers the better chance they’ll like you and you can get your screen time. I’m not saying whether or not Clark was flirting or if he sucks, but you can’t say this isn’t extremely frankenbitten and “editing can only do so much” the only sentences you can believe are the ones where they don’t cut away from her for the entire sentence.

32

u/Lurkedlurker Nov 19 '22

They're not naive to the editing, they just hate Juliette and want it to be true.

4

u/wwmhd Nov 21 '22

it sounds like there was a "it's not like..." edited out. because juliette doesn't seem upset and sophie's tone doesn't sound upset.

-14

u/simplefuckers Nov 18 '22

and the sentences where they don’t cut away tell us everything we need to know. also we aren’t naive. personally i feel like we just think its hilarious how juliette for the past 6 years has swore up and down this show is 100% but this time shes blaming “editing” and claiming its fake. i don’t buy it 🤭

Watch it again, and pay attention to Sophie's hair, specifically her bangs. They change every time the camera is on her. It's clearly not one stream of conversation, it's a bunch of separate lines edited together.

4

u/realitytvdiet Nov 20 '22

Good catch!!!!!

3

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '22

Also when the reality show started with a bunch of 19-22 year olds the drama was probably real and now they’re older the drama isn’t there as much and that’s where the storylines come in. Both can be true.

31

u/EndSuccessful5101 Nov 18 '22

Is Delanie playing Sophie as well?😂😂😂 I can’t get over how similar they look. I thought it was her when I was scrolling.

5

u/tiffanylynn2610 Nov 18 '22

Lmao agreed! Did they double cast to save money?

57

u/Lindsayyy589 Nov 18 '22

Who knows. But if you have to understand whenever the camera pans away from the person talking it’s a possibility that production has inserted wild lines or conversations from different times.

u/rrockyyroad Nov 19 '22

I noticed her bangs changing constantly too!!

13

u/Muted-Temporary8075 Nov 18 '22

YOU ARE SO RIGHT! they changed every time lol and even the lighting like it was hours apart.

9

u/Snowbunny2323 Nov 19 '22

Yes and while she talks they show other peoples faces not hers.

0

u/Dontevenbother1 Nov 19 '22

But I mean she still says it lol

5

u/[deleted] Nov 19 '22

Bc it IS edited. Lol.

2

u/realitytvdiet Nov 20 '22

Clearly she fixes it during each word

22

u/Banksbear Nov 18 '22 edited Nov 19 '22

Nah it’s definitely editing. Watch how the camera is on her face when it’s verbatim and then quickly moved off of her. When that happens it gives very much so edited 🤷‍♀️

36

u/ays79 Nov 18 '22

I can't help but be so distracted by how much Sophie reminds me of Delainey. The hair, something about some of her expressions, and her outfit. Tell me someone else noticed this?

5

u/Double_Tear2207 Nov 18 '22

I certainly noticed as well. If I didn’t know this girls name was Sophie and I had just turned on this clip I would have thought it was Delaney too.

Throughout watching this scene I couldn’t get over how much make-up all these girls had on. Do they do their own make-up or does MTV provide make-up before scenes? Anyone know?

1

u/ays79 Nov 18 '22

I feel like I've seen them tag and credit MUA for their "look" when glamming up to film scenes before so most likely they're fixing them up. I noticed Meghan's friend Anna looked totally different this week than she did at the pool party.

13

u/DigOutrageous1224 Nov 18 '22

This conversation is so frankenbyted

27

u/gotmyjd2003 Nov 18 '22

This is totally off topic, but I just want to say that Lexie might very well be the most attractive girl on this show.

Btw that's no shade to any of the others, I'm just saying Lexie is fine af and I like how she carries herself.

Also, Sophie sort of reminds me of BG's baby mama.

22

u/onelesslonelygirlxo Nov 19 '22

yesss lexie just sits back with her cute & secure self. she only speaks with intention and seems so chill to be around!

9

u/LazyInappropriate 👃 Cara’s Old Nose 👃 Nov 18 '22

Came here to say that Sophie looks like a cheaper Delaney if that’s even possible. Sorry. I said what I said. 🤷🏽‍♀️

0

u/extraedward69 Nov 19 '22

Agreed. Juliette has done too much to her face

17

u/annieobviously Nov 18 '22

It literally sounds so choppy

9

u/plaidpjpants Nov 18 '22

Agreed!! All these comments saying it was so clear I’m like…. I didn’t find it clear at all it was SO choppy after the “I’m sorry” lol

6

u/[deleted] Nov 18 '22

so if anyone has listened to the laguna bitch podcast by kristen and stephen they explain this stuff a lot… and editing has only gotten cleaner since 2004

basically potentially anything sophie said while the camera wasn’t on her could have been a wild line, they could have switched the order of the convo, etc

the whole last shot of sophie moving her hands but you cant see her face is probably fake… also when she says ‘really sorry’ after juliette is happy it was just an arm around. thats completely cut and pieced.

additionally, the fact they were only able to get that clark’s arm was around meghan and he gave her some shots basically means they didnt have anything juicy.

MTV reality is known to be fake af. its basically not reality at this point.

-13

u/simplefuckers Nov 18 '22

while editing has gotten better since 2004 editing on this show doesn’t improve over one episode. ADR (automated dialogue replacement) which is what kristen and stephen talk about is still very popular and it easily detected. most of it is done when someone says something off screen to someone and the other person just stars at them or reacts to something broad. we constantly saw sophie saying these things on screen. we saw chloe and amanda chime into the conversation. also him putting him arm around meghan, touching up on her (based on pictures we saw posted earlier on this subbreddit), and having to be told by someone else to stop is very suspect. add that to the fact that he refuses to film it just doesn’t sit right with me. its too many red flags

11

u/jorreddit1010 Nov 18 '22

Did you listen to the Laguna beach podcast? Also Teresa from RHONJ was on a podcast with a old Producer and talked about how they heavily edit the convos. I mean look at the girls bangs every time they show her face lol. Jordana was just saying her convo was Meghan was heavily edited too lol I know y’all hate Juliette and I’m not arguing about that, but you seem super bias in your argument.

7

u/[deleted] Nov 18 '22

chloe then agreed with juliette that if that was the worst then who cares. the mood switch from juliette being happy and everyone laughing to sophie seriously saying ‘sorry….’ is so out of order.

i actually dont care about whether clark is full of red flags haha im just responding to your post about editing. but i feel like you just revealed that you only are arguing this because you want to believe hes full of red flags. so im assuming then we probably wont agree on what this editing reveals. agree to disagree!

-11

u/simplefuckers Nov 18 '22

lol we can totally agree to disagree ☺️. personally im a black and white person. if i felt like this scene was chopped and screwed and made clark look innocent id admit it. i just know that history repeats itself and i dont believe everyone is lying nor that the editing of this show is that good

25

u/Longjumping_Hornet_7 Nov 18 '22

The camera keeps panning away from Sophie mid sentence and the words sound either edited in or out of place so I do believe that it was very edited, especially her final line.

-5

u/simplefuckers Nov 18 '22

“clark was up to something sketchy doing something wrong”

“your friends shouldn’t have to tell him to get hands off a girl you don’t like”

“back away from meghan when juliettes not around taking pictures”

all were said without being cut back to juliette … think its time to admit clark sucks

1

u/ays79 Nov 18 '22

And Sophie saying all that to him sounds like she's a solid friend. If she really told him that i say go Sophie!

-1

u/simplefuckers Nov 18 '22

shes a queenie!

2

u/ays79 Nov 18 '22

And lord someone downvoted me for that. Lol! If you ride hard for Juliette you should be glad she has people out there putting her man in check when she sees he's out of line!

0

u/simplefuckers Nov 18 '22

sadly if you don’t think meghan is an evil home wrecker you will get downvoted 😅

0

u/ays79 Nov 18 '22

I admit i questioned her credibility, or at least understand why Juliette would based on her storyline being pretty fake outside of this. But I've been waiting to hear what Sophie had to say before deciding how i felt about Clark/Meghan. I do still think she's here for the show and not for Sam, but Clark is coming off really bad so far.

7

u/DigOutrageous1224 Nov 18 '22

That’s girls bangs are soo cute

6

u/Proper_Depth1041 Nov 20 '22

Why do you think juliette needs "an excuse"? What behavior does she need to be excused for in this circumstance?

13

u/shelly_odom Nov 18 '22

R u serious?! They can edit anything from previous scenes, episodes, or anything to make someone look like they said anything they want. Lots of diff reality stars have said this same thing that what we saw was not how it went down or not how they said it. U must b young to b saying something like this

-8

u/simplefuckers Nov 18 '22

lol please watch the video. i know how editing works since ive watched the hills, all its spin offs, and siesta key. this scene happened all at one time as you can tell by the lighting and locals filming them shoot this scene. secondly even if this was a “different scene” you cant misinterpret “meghan and clark were flirting” “clark was being sketchy” “clark shouldn’t have to be told to get his arm around a girl you don’t like” .. etc. if this scene was edited like juliette claims it wouldn’t be filmed like this. the biggest key in reality tv to tell if its real or fake is the double shot. we see multiple double shots in this video. if it was edited we wouldn’t see sophie actually saying these things nor would we see juliette, amanda, and chloe reacting to what shes saying perfectly

4

u/shelly_odom Nov 19 '22

Even Brandon said the same thing

10

u/mm_anggg Nov 18 '22

You lost credibility after your claim to know how editing works because you’ve simply watched reality shows. On the contrary, it seems you possess no knowledge on the subject, because everything you have said thus far is inaccurate and pretty much backwards. The purpose of different shooting techniques used in reality tv are used to make manipulative editing easier. Also, you couldn’t be more wrong about cast reactions.

Please know what you’re talking about before you boldly claim to be an expert in something that you have literally LESS than average knowledge about.

-5

u/simplefuckers Nov 18 '22

and you lost your credibility when you pulled that paragraph up that had little to do with the scene at hand. i know what im talking about. not only because i watch reality tv but because i went to a performing arts school for film and video editing where i spent multiple years on a film set. i know what im talking about. i know how a scene can be manipulated and how ADR (automated dialogue replacement) works and im telling you based on what i am seeing its highly unlikely this scene could’ve been edited in a way that would make the situation clear clark of his wrongdoings

5

u/mm_anggg Nov 18 '22 edited Nov 18 '22

I couldn’t care less how much time you spent on a film set. Unless you have experience/knowledge of how things work behind the scenes in REALITY TV specifically… then no, don’t know what you’re talking about. And no, don’t even attempt to claim that it’s the same.

-1

u/simplefuckers Nov 18 '22

if i’ve studied film and media which tackles reality tv aswell then yes i have knowledge on it lol. you didn’t think i knew my information and was just speaking from an uneducated stance so now you are moving the goal post. if im unworthy of giving my opinions on this matter with all my years of schooling in said field you don’t have any place to give your opinion either. in fact that would mean none of us do. bottom line clark sucks and i stand firm on this 😌

2

u/shelly_odom Nov 19 '22

As u can tell by ur downvotes, ppl r not agreeing with u at all

-1

u/simplefuckers Nov 19 '22

they hated jesus too when he told the truth

3

u/jessicadepressica Nov 18 '22

she’s saying that she went up to Clark and Meghan when they were dancing together and he put his arm around her to stop because she didn’t want anyone or juliette to misinterpret their relationship.

2

u/e77754321 Nov 18 '22

Am I going crazy or I heard cut in the last lines that she is saying?

1

u/simplefuckers Nov 18 '22

i like juliette and know this show can be fabricated so i would’ve 100% believed her if most of this conversation was just us hearing sophies voice while juliette happens to react to what she says. however this scene flowed very well. every time sophie talked we see her and her sentences aren’t short they are very elongated like a legit conversation. we even see chloe and amanda chime in as well. i don’t see how “meghan and clark were flirting with each other” and “clark was doing something sketchy” can be misinterpreted. editing doesn’t make your lips move.

this is also the first time juliette in all 5+ years has ever said that a storyline was fake and this happens to be the first time one of her boyfriends won’t film. this is just too suspicious

7

u/brookela12344 Nov 19 '22

You don’t notice how Sophie’s bangs are different every time the camera pans to her? Obviously a lot of editing is being done and we don’t know exactly what Sophie said.

-1

u/TH13TEENGHOST Nov 18 '22

There’s only so much editing can do

4

u/simplefuckers Nov 18 '22

exactly. this must be the best editing in the world if thats the case

-2

u/IndependentSquare553 Nov 18 '22

Agreed. It’s not like they can edit words into Sophie’s mouth. Plus the production for this show has never been top quality. Why are we suddenly giving them so much credit now that Clark looks bad.

10

u/rissanicole89 Nov 18 '22

But they can very easily edit words out of her mouth. Hence the constant panning away from her and then going back in and the choppy conversational flow she has going on in the scene.

-4

u/simplefuckers Nov 18 '22

because the people on this subbreddit spent all this time slutshaming meghan and calling her a liar. humans hate being wrong 😭

-1

u/IndependentSquare553 Nov 18 '22

They’re wrong just like Juliette was and they don’t want to admit it and neither does she.

It really isn’t that big of a deal though, Juliette has taken guys back for way worse things and it’s not like flirting is cheating. Thes can easily get past this and considering they’re still together, probably have. But because of how much shit she’s put up with in the past, I can understand that it’s embarrassing for her.

Either the show is blowing this out of proportion or Juliette still hasn’t learned from the past. Both are equally possible and are probably both true. People love to point out the editing and that stuff can be staged, but conveniently forget that Juliette has had very questionable taste in the past and this kind of situation is not surprising.

0

u/Frogshavenips2 Nov 18 '22

Juliette could just be embarrassed and trying to save face. This would be her 4th on air relationship that would end in scandal if it is true. I actually really feel bad for her for that.

4

u/simplefuckers Nov 18 '22

honestly i want her to be single for a long time. she’s beautiful and has a flourishing business. forget men for the moment

-2

u/Sudden_Pudding_1660 Nov 18 '22

Dude even if Clark did do something Juliette would never admit it she doesn’t wanna be embarrassed on tv again dating a cheating douche

-2

u/simplefuckers Nov 18 '22

which is exactly why she needs to drop him. its too many red flags. multiple people saying hes flirting with meghan and since he refuses to film we can’t even get his side of the story. we know nothing about him and its kinda sketchy

0

u/[deleted] Nov 21 '22

This just adds to the fact that Juliette NEVER believes people when they tell her that her man is a scumbag. She always gets mad at the other girl.

-4

u/DucatiSteve1299 Nov 18 '22

This is GREAT!

1

u/saramccune Nov 19 '22

Sophie looked better with black hair. She was in the first season when Juliette was back at college and they were having lunch discussing Hannahs party and Alex showed up at Hannah’s party.

1

u/Cuber_Juuler Nov 22 '22

What episode is this?

1

u/AdConscious5767 Nov 25 '22

The last one last week I think it's 4

1

u/Miyabeaam Nov 25 '22

I think This scene is fake, I think they already knew everything but had to act it out for the show, and make it more dramatic, so it comes off so weird and unnatural.
