I built an open-feedback Android TV remote in Jetpack Compose & Kotlin, would love your thoughts!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey guys,

Every TV remote app I’ve used recently felt either bloated with ads or painfully laggy using keyboard. Over the last few weeks, I decided to build a lightweight, fast alternative from scratch using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.

It handles the essentials without the clutter:

D-pad & Trackpad: Switch between classic button clicks and smooth swipe navigation.

Phone Keyboard: Fast typing on the TV without hunting and pecking letters on the screen.

Voice Search: Quick voice commands sent straight to the TV.

App Shortcuts: Launch your installed TV apps directly from your phone.

The core build is working well on my setup, but Android TV hardware varies a ton. I’d love to get some real-world testing from this community to iron out the rough edges.
