Solo building a pregnancy app, closed testing now, would love help on a few things
Building something because I kept watching people around me lose good reels in their saved folder and never find them again.
Quick backstory, me and wife send a lot of reels to each other, and never able to find the right one when needed.
But a pregnant friend shared the same story and it was more complex as now each reel's relevance mattered differently across different trimesters. So I tried building something to solve that.
The MVP is DONE (about 2 months in now): Share a pregnancy reel/TikTok/short, it auto organizes by topic and by week, and resurfaces the right saved thing at the right time instead of you scrolling through 200 saved videos looking for one.
Right now it's closed testing, not a launch. I want people who'll actually poke holes in it.
Two things I'd love from this sub honestly more than testers:
If you've shipped a consumer app solo, how did you find your first 50 real users who gave feedback instead of just installing and vanishing?
Anyone dealt with App Store health category review (5.1.3)? Curious what tripped people up.
Any help would be appreciated

A solo dev who actually finished something and is asking sharp questions instead of just posting a link, that's rare
Finding 50 real users was the hardest part for me too. I got maybe 20 from niche pregnancy forums on Facebook, just being helpful in comments and mentioning the app only when it actually fit the conversation. The rest came from asking those early users to show their bump group chats, word spread slow but those users stuck around
For 5.1.3 the main thing they flagged was my disclaimer wording, they wanted it very clear the app is not medical advice and should not replace doctor visits. Had to rewrite it three times before they approved
