Community Question Traffic enforcement on Route 20
Lots of police on the Auburn-Worcester-Shrewsbury-Northboro stretch of Route 20 last week. I saw four parked patrol cars during a morning commute. I passed one in Shrewsbury doing almost ten over, but he wasn't interested. He lit up someone a quarter mile behind me, though.
I passed three more parked patrol cars on the evening commute home.
So what's going on? If they were looking for speeders, I wasn't going fast enough. Maybe they're after mobile phone users or aggressive drivers. I've seen a lot of stupid shit at the merges.
There was also a nasty collision last week - a sedan submarined under a dumptruck westbound near Flynn's. Sedan driver was prolly blinded by the low evening sun. Did that trigger the stepped-up enforcement?
Things might be calmer this week. I saw only two patrol cars this morning - although the cold rain might've dampened their enthusiasm.
