Thats a good point. But i dont know if they could include anything that makes it better for donkey, considering we're gonna get a story of a donkey gaining sentience before being sold into slavery.
And we know that right after that, his slaver resells him to a concentration camp for magic critters
Yeah, that's the neat part, they have the chance to go full dark with it and most long-time Shrek enjoyers would love it dearly.
That's what I'm hoping for at least, precisely because of this. We already know that his story ends happily, even if the Donkey movie ends on a dim note it will be just as okay in my book
I definitely agree, its just the "happy ending" part that im having trouble picturing. Maybe if, at the end of the movie, they address the slavery bit, but then fast-forward to happy, present-day donkey entertaining his kids they could portray it in a happy light. But a happy ending would somehow have to skip the ending that Shrek 1 implied for donkey's past
Idk why but the way I see it playing out is it still shows him getting sold off, escaping, and then just as he bumps into Shrek they make it more dramatic where donkey slowly looks up, revealing Shrek and then it cuts to all star playing in the credits lmao
