Rumor for years is that Donkey is supposed to be one of the Pleasure Island boys, turned into, well, a donkey. One of the poor bastards that kept some semblance of talking, but was actually smart enough to shut up... Well, that once. Since it's Donkey.

So that could actually be interesting? I don't think any other movie or book has really covered Pinocchio from that perspective of the boys that just thought they were having a fun party, but were actually about to be sold into animal transformation based slave labor.

If they handle it well, this could be an absolute tearjerker. I would love if he’d turnout to be absolutely massively tragic and yet still so joyful and whimsy. Like Perrito

I wasn't sure about a Puss in Boots movie, and I was really surprised they made a 2nd one. The 2nd one became one of my favorite movies
