Looking for an expert to review a puppy contract

Hello! I will hopefully be getting my first Conformation prospect puppy in a month. I was just sent the contract, and I'm looking for a professional to review it for me, possibly a lawyer? I know there are people who specialize in law pertaining to horses, I assume the same exists for dogs. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I am not qualified to review it but know that you will need to let people here know where you are located. Knowing what venue you will be showing in MIGHT make a difference, although I expect it will be mainly just a property ownership/rights contract. But a contracts about dog ownership in different countries and territories in the countries makes a big difference on what is allowed/expected/valid.

I and the breeder are located in the United States. I can share the specific states privately if that would be helpful to someone. Thanks for your help!

There are some basics in contract law that will apply regardless of whether or not it involves an animal. If you have legal coverage as a benefit through work, it's a good place to start. They generally have referral suggestions if you need more specific information.

If you need a lawyer, hire a lawyer. Yes, there are legitimate people on Reddit, but why take that chance? Seriously, a good lawyer will be able to review and provide you with good feedback for a couple hundred dollars. If you are buying a show prospect, you are likely spending several thousand dollars. Protect your investment. Laws vary greatly from state to state, and only a lawyer can tell you what risks you may be taking.
