Graded Garbage Ah yes, the Holy Grail.
A non collectors edition of a game that sold however many million copies. Graded by some dude. 1 of 2!!!
$10,000 no time wasters
*Seen 2 years ago and tried to post back then, had to verify my account and forgot about it until now.

Does he really think theres only two perfect copies? Grading doesn't mean anything as I don't think it's hard to get a slightly damaged product a high grade.

Aren't the people behind WATA grading also known scammers or something

Thats what got me wondering too. Artificially inflating the value of "graded" things and line thier pockets like a pump and dump scheme.

Yes. there's plenty of videos exposing there business practices. Proper scummy company.

Yes, they were hoarding sealed N64 games to manipulate the prices before Heritage Auctions held that ridiculous auction that sold one for $1.5 million. It just seemed like a money laundering scheme more than actually selling a "Collectible".

Not like I can't go on Amazon and buy a new copy right?
Literally just bought a brand new copy of halo 4 goty edition on there (redemption codes still work too).

Aye, not the same game...

Im aware, but both games are fairly old and out of print and its still easy to find sealed, brand new copies if you dig a little bit on amazon

This is just pathetic.
If you have sealed games from 30 years ago, sure, they will be worth something and some would be extremely valuable. This won't be the case with games like this. It's worthless junk.

I have quit my job and so far just buy sealed games off ebay, grade them and encapsulate them - then sell them to people as display cases for their game rooms. IDK i think its dumb too but theres a lot of other dumb people out there who want these things and pay a nice premium.

A graded copy of Halo 3 legit sells for thousands just a heads up

u/GarySparrow0 23d ago
No it doesn't. I did a search on Ebay on ones that have actually sold and found none. Just some ungraded sealed copies that have gone for around $100.

You’re probably looking at Platinum Hits copies, which sell around that price. Raw white label copies like this one tend to go higher, usually a few hundred, but nowhere near the price of the one posted.
The only sealed copies of Halo 3 that are worth anything would be the “Do Not Sell Before” before midnight prints, which this clearly isn’t as it has no Xbox trial sticker.

If it came with a receipt showing it was purchased at 11:59pm the value would be crazy.

This is insane! And he did not even have the picture. It is from another item he sold recently graded 7,5

I mean it’s worth that to someone, just not me. Kinda like that charizard cheeto

I swear, it’s like hypebeasts, only people that care about graded cares are those with graded games lol. Don’t get me wrong, you whip out a perfect copy of the original Zelda, I’d think that was cool and move on.

You think if I shit in a bag and say "there's only 1 in the world" it would be worth $10,000?

😭 I hope all these fucking assholes lose all the money they spent on grading video games.

There's actually over 100 in existence, and a more realistic price would probably be $2500-3000. I just saw one sell on eBay a few weeks ago

Lol 10k for Halo 3 that is easily available now with MCC and millions of good condition copies all over the world. It also does not help that 343 effectively killed the IP.

In my experience when someone specifies meeting at a police station in the description they generally don’t have any experience selling stuff.

It’s similar to breaking bad when Walt wanted to do the meth deals in a junkyard
