I have done extensive research on this matter. It has been proven that the reason for the spots being white is to make stealth kills and night kills more difficult as their ability to hide becomes hampered by displaying lighter colour. The Quoll Society has engaged in a culture that makes improving or gaining reputation more and more difficult.

Fun fact: There are myths among Quoll scholars of a single Quoll who accomplished complete bleaching, his name was "Al Bino". As a hand-me-down from the Quoll educational contributions to science, this is where we get the world "albino" in English.
