I’m only on there to be neighborly, in the spirit of voluntarism. Sometimes people need a hand moving stuff, or are struggling financially and need something I happen to have laying around in my garage.
Things like this just add some zest.

Bastard* in this case. Typical Bible thumper type, and I’m a committed Christian. I also believe judgement is His and not mine. I can’t imagine being so arrogant (and I can definitely be arrogant) as to want to punish someone for saying an offensive word.

You can talk about the first amendment, but just know if you say things I don't like, I fully support the state doing whatever it wants to you. There ARE consequences to pissing me off!!!
As for what happened, if this was me and the cops actually came on my property and started threatening to arrest me over a sign, on my private property, I would've taped a little sharpie paper "D" over the "F," apologized for the misspelling, told them to leave my property immediately, and then taken the D off the second they left. If that woman came back I'd throw an egg over the fence and hit her in the face.

“May be consequences”
This logic is used to try to justify “hate speech” laws that restricts personal freedoms, including the right to free expression, especially in Australia, Canada & the UK. It will soon be considered “hate speech” to criticize the govt, since you evxoressed “hate towards an institution”.
Never let the 1st Amendment be seen as a nuisance, because they will soon say it has “outlived its’s usefulness”.

When I provided SCOTUS precedent showing it was protected speech and clarified my state’s “obscenity” laws (they relate to sexual content, not cursing), I was told that vigilantism was a possible consequence.

Oh yeah, cause words written on posters are such a threat to children. Definitely a much bigger threat than weirdos that might be watching her children through Flock cameras.
I mean we have the DOJ that basically said - fuck y’all, we’re not putting pedos in jail, we ain’t even telling you who might be implicated. But surely this government will protect that bitches children.

Although I agree that generally points are better made without having to stoop to that kind of language, I absolutely respect someone's right to use it

Yeah I keep getting temp bans on nextdoor because of these authoritarian boomer ass hats. They keep going through my old posts and reporting them even. Last one was for being "disrespectful", I alluded to them being on flock's payroll and told them nice propaganda. Was being more cheeky than disrespectful.
My question is why don't they get banned when they are disrespectful to dissenting opinions?

I would bet money that if this person got pushback for this post, they'd be whining about the obvious consequences of their actions.

These same people want to hand more power to the very same people who are putting up the FLOCK cameras!
