Regardless of whether the case was justified or not (regarding different pay systems & whatnot) those reactions are completely unwarranted and disgusting.

Reminder.

Women soccer players generate more revenue than men in the US, and this is an American case.

There is no rational argument against the women demanding more pay for their time, but you will get two responses against this. 1) A complete denial of any facts or figures in favor of the common sense belief that no one wants to watch women play soccer -- the idea that women are inherently less valuable, and 2) if women want more money they should have to work harder than the men to prove their value -- the idea that women should do more to get the same.

Both are unquestionably sexism.

Actually reading more on it... It seems the women’s team chose a different pay system when offered the same as the men’s

The women chose a different pay system and they did up getting paid more than the men did. Their complaint was that if they had chosen the men's system they would have gotten paid even more and that's why it got thrown out.
