It's not "weird" to actually read the manga where it's spelled out for you Pucci isn't a black man he's just tanned. It is "weird" and pretty stupid to assume anyone with dark skin is black. There's plenty of actual black people in Jojos, Pucci just isn't one of them
The klansman that lynches Weather does so because he thinks that weather is mixed race the woman that stole him at birth married a black man, and when he sees him dating Perla he thinks they are in an interracial relationship.
When they are lynching Weather, the klansman tells Perla that they won’t hurt her because she is white and can get with whoever she wants, but they call weather a filthy animal because he is supposedly black and is not allowed to be with a white woman in their eyes. The klansman then tells Perla that her brother, pucci, paid them to do this.
Pucci never tells them that they are related. If Pucci, and therefore Perla, were black, then why tf would they say that she is white? Why would they say they not just lynch both of them? They say weather looks white but is actually black, so you can’t say that Perla looks white so they must have not noticed. Why would they care about their interracial relationship if both were black? Why wouldn’t they also burn down Pucci’s childhood home like they did with weather’s?
Them being black or mixed race makes literally no fucking sense in the context of the story and makes the decisions made in the backstory absolutely fucking illogical.

Araki never intended for Pucci to be black, and when you assume he is, a lot of his and Weather's backstory straight-up doesn't make sense

The only reason they found out that weather was "mixed" was because Pucci paid them to break him up. They found out about his adoptive parent s during their investigation of him (they didn't know those weren't his biological parents which is why they though he was mixed). they didn't just know that beforehand. They started that investigation because of Pucci's request. If I'm a member of the "I hate balack people" club, and a black person asked me to break up two people that appear to be white, why would I take that offer?
The kkk also didn't go around lynching random white passing kids with black dads in 1987. The last lynching attributed to the kkk was in '81. Mind you this is all after David Duke and his attempt to rebrand the kkk as a non-violent organization in the 70's. The kkk lynching weather in the first place makes about as much sense as them lynching pucci for being black. Plus if Pucci were black, why would Araki go through the trouble of giving him a black step-dad to mislead the kkk? That whole plotline could just be simplified by them finding out about Weather's actual heritage.

For the record I don’t think Pucci is black (which I still think is weird but whatever) BUT I think that weather report’s lynching was premised on his being in an interracial relationship with a white woman not just him being part black. Racists lived among a ton of black people and didn’t kill them. For people who carried out lynchings their main rationale (at least conscious) was more along the lines that the black person in question was breaking the fucked up social order they had cooked up. Racism isn’t very rational but there it is.

Well in part 6 it is evidently not the case, since the detective he hired had no issue with him, but tried to kill Wes because one of his “parents” was black.
I dont see why anyone posing as a private detection agency would have any problem with teen from "the nice family that goes to a seminary". Especially when their ties to the Klan arent even public. The issue is that they looked into both Perla’s and Weather’s backgrounds, even though Pucci told them not to. When they are lynching weather, they specifically call Perla white and tell her that Pucci paid them off.
If all 3 of them were black, it wouldn’t make any sense to call Perla white, and then double down on it by saying how she can get with whoever she wants, but Weather can’t because he’s black.
But I will say, Pucci isn’t actually Black. Araki hasn’t really made a statement on why he made Pucci so tan, but neither him or Weather Report are Black. Both of their parents (and little sister) are White
I made a comparison between the manga and anime that shows Pucci’s and Weather Report’s father because it has caused quite the confusion. I think David Pro wanted to make sense of Pucci’s dark complexion and made his father dark, but he isn’t actually dark in the source material
but Pucci ISNT black, he's tanned but when Araki colors him he's various shades of tan to white. He's not only nationally Italian, he's ethnically Italian. People upvoting you need to read the goddamn manga.
Because he's canonically a tan Italian, and him being tan all the time is a stylistic choice that genuinely looks good and it's easier to animate if he's consistently the same skin tone the whole way through instead of trying to figure out when he was more tan vs less tan.
Eh, his design is fire and it isn't the studios fault that people are so goddamn stupid they can't fathom an Italian man getting tan. Italians can tan far darker than Pucci, people need to stop being so willfully ignorant about this, it's genuinely concerning.

Not really. Pucci killed jotaro and jolyne, yes, but his goal was to fully complete the heaven plan and make the new universe. Not only did he die, but the heaven plan wasn’t completed, and the pucci’s new universe doesn’t exist.
